Well true, there is no storyline for him yet.....so I may as well release two models together:-

Once we have the new Hector, I'm going to replace the default Hector with the new one. And then use the old one as a uniform that can be purchased, which therefore changes the model back to the pirate version. I think Craiggo has set aside a starting ship for him which will represent the new command he has from On Stranger Tides.

We've got a new Barbossa now? PotC-compatible by chance? That'll be a great addition to our next Build Mod release! :D

We've got two new Barbossa versions, but not POTC compatible yet Pieter.....but they will be though.
Got a bit of an issue with the skin ATM......the model works OK but OP says the skin looks odd in bright lighting.....don't know what's causing it, I've done it the same as all the others :(, looks OK in Maya.

I hope that helps. If the model is supposed to be like that, then it's fine by me, I'm thrilled to have him in the game, I want to put him into the next GoF! patch.
 
Apparently either there are no smoothing groups or they're not being exported properly.

Sorry, can't make the pictures out OP.....too dark to see.
I smoothed everything in Maya before exporting. The only thing is when I tried to flat shade the model again, trying to sort this out, it would'nt do it....... so maybe it's a problem that's developed with my Maya installation, all the plugins are turned on.

OK now I see what you mean....turned monitor brightness to full.
Not much I can do about it short of smoothing polys, supposing it's not a Maya prob,...these models are pretty low poly.
 
Well.....till the first one is sorted out, it's not, but there will only be the wig to add once the first is done.

The deal is....it's a model problem,....it won't smooth. I've probably clicked on something by mistake & ......f***ed it up.
Exported it as Obj. re-opened it in Maya & it flat and smooth shades OK......just no animation.
Looks like I'll have to do the body again. His hat is'nt that noticeable, good as it's now attatched to his face.......anyway.....next weekend.

On that note I'm off for a beer :wp
