I think we don't share enough what we play. So I am giving a start. You should equip except a musket and a sabre, a screens&video snapshot programm.

I am in an attempt here to combine music with action, tho the best had passed in this battle and less fitting music came after the beginning, but nevertheless it's not a bad one. :p

Why not make a lets play! youtube chanel and post some video's there?

I definitely agree we're not posting enough stuff. The PiratesAhoy! YouTube channel is VERY quiet. I'd much rather see some ACTION there.
We can post videos to the ModDB and our Facebook profile as well. Showing an active community is always a good thing; helps to get as many people as possible to see it.

See this thread for details on the various profiles we've got and how you can post to them: http://www.piratesahoy.net/threads/piratesahoy-community-promotion.18391/
Let me know if you don't have the rights you need to do it. :doff

I only have one crap 30 second video and am not sure how to post it here. 982mb.

In post 3 PB gave a link and pass for the PiratesAhoy youtube channel where everyone without own subscription can upload something. I myself have registered a parallel account to my gmail address and that allows me to upload such things on my youtube channel, and it's pretty easy. Ahh, the size - always goes around such parameters, I am afraid - that's why after uploading you can erase it from your hard...

Everyone who makes videos, please DO post it to the PiratesAhoy! YouTube account. The more active we appear, the better it is!
We can put them in a separate "PotC Gameplay" playlist to separate them from the "official promotional material" for the modpacks.

As for games with ships, there are already THE MOST of them for PotC. I did a search with "PotC" in youtube and there were pages of them, with other sails or ships games badly represented. I think the Build is popular enough.

The idea for here was to have "on the day" or on the spot sharing and commentary, something which is not possible in YouTube. But people seldom make videos, that 's so for any game.

There are quite a lot of videos around, but they're not from our own channel.
While I can keep some activity going on Facebook and Twitter, our YouTube channel tends to appear rather dead.

Well I attempted to log in with the account info given, but since I try from another country it appears a message that it needs to check me something and that I fill a form with a text message for phone/and a hidden password/...such things. Probably that's why not many people used it.

Plus the video I wanted to post was kind of funny, a crash of my steering skills into another ship :D maybe just sorted videos should appear on that channel:

Uh? What do you need then?

Possibly Google doesn't consider a "community account" and thinks it is my personal one. That's annoying.
In that case, if you post the actual video files somewhere, I could post them to the channel myself as long as I'm still ashore.

Yup, Google tells me "Suspicious sign-in prevented". The accompanying IP address confirms that was indeed you.

Thanks, Google! Really good job! Except I do know what is going on here. :facepalm

Ok, I finally ran into a good battle. Five big French ships, five big English ships, and my three medium ships. I ended up with 2 - 2 1/2 minute videos of just plain battle action. Now what?

They are just raw footage with no cuts or anything since I do not have any editing software.

Nope. Not there. There is a dvd maker and a media player (which has never worked), but no movie maker.
