Need Help Where be the secret hideout?

For the love of god, I cant seem to find the wretched thing. I've read on the forums somewhere that it should be at Khael Roa (is it cozumel?) but how? where? When? So many questions. The darn compas didnt help. Nowhere to land on that wretched island.

Be it a quest? Or maybe its storyline specific? I searched with Nathaniel.

I also noticed that the compas no longer leads to the nice dutch skeleton dude but this time it leads to the cursed treasure of cortez. So, as a side note, where do I find Vanderdeckken now, after the update?

I know you think I am spoiling the fun for myself by asking but I spent about 2-3 hours looking. You could give me a nice hint instead of straight answer :)

PS: let me congratulate you on another great update, and as always, thank you for creating out of potc the greatest game in the world :bow

Ok.my comprehension must be bad today. :pirate07: What secret hideout?

You mention Kaol Roa which is now Cozumel. I have never been there before or after the quest takes me there, but there should be something there. What, I do not know. The only place to land at Cozumel is inside the bay, so you get to run down that narrow channel to get to it.

The Animist lair can be a secret hideout.

Vanderdecken is where he always is. That island is shaped like a figure 8 with the 2 landing sites on each side of the waist in the middle. So if he is not where you land at first, just sail around the island to the other bay.

The Secret Hideout is in a cave in the Cozumel jungles.

Vanderdecken is in the same place he always was, on one of the shores of Isla de Muerta/

I cant land on Cozumel :( Also there is a giant rock in the way, I could squeaze a tartane maybe. The sail-to option doesnt show anything except the dissapointing red cross, like its mocking me, "nowhere to land on this island, silly". Was a there a big change? Like I need to manually sail to a shore to unlock the sail-to option? Or do I need to finish the whole Nataniel questline to "unlock" landing on cozumel? What about other storylines, most of them dont even include Cozumel as far as I remember.

I really apreciate the help :)

Oh, I figured it out. The narrow path in Cozumel is blocked by smaller rocks in the Nathaniel Questline, creating an invisible, inpenetrable wall, and landing on the shore is not possible until the storyline requires it. I tried a different storyline and the passage is open and also the sail-to option appears. So I guess no secret hideout for you, Nathaniel, for now :)

Hmmm, I found a cave on Cozumel, somewhere in the jungle but it looks like a regular cave, just like the one on barbados. Ive ran around it all over the place but I cant seem to find a secret door or trigger.

I was hoping to find this: http://www.moddb.com/members/pieter-boelen/images/gameplay-pictures4#imagebox

Oohh Nathaniel can get there as wel but you can't get there before defeating Silehard and his manowar, after you finished the storyline you can always get back to Cozumel and go to the Secret Passage there ;)

And to get to Vanderdecken on Isla de Muerta just must speak to Mr. Gibbs first otherwise the island will not apprear, in the Jack Sparrow storyline you must talk to Tia Dalma on Muscetto Cove to get it
