Exciting! I'll have to watch that when I get back home. Preview image looks nice in any case. :onya

They made a nice art image, really nice. Full sized image can be downloaded from game labs forum: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/987-work-in-progress/page-2
Thank you game labs guys for awesome wallpaper :D

Hi, I have only a one question... Sometimes will in Naval Action damage model (how for example in Empire TW) or no? Because in this game it would be perfect...

And this question is for Hearts of Oak too...

Thx for answer and sorry for ma English.

Naval Action has a really good damage model for the ships. Game is currently in Alpha Test Phase. It's already the best sailing-ships combat-simulation that i've ever played.

There are 100's+ of Videos about Naval Action on YT already.

Naval Action for all the hard time i give them :wp is actualy looking like the sea combat is going to be excellent , now if they can pull the rest together i will happily EAT cold spaghetti.

*edit 20 days later he notices he forgot the word eat

and most importantly open world experiments started - and the feel in the open sea is incredible.

port looks, and names are wip - lines on the sea are for testing purposes

that means single player + co-op is going to be in game much faster and it will feature a seamless huge world.

So, will there be separate instances for battles and the "open sea" or is it all going to be in a more realistic fashion like in the Build Mod "DirectSail" (where you sail between islands, encounter ships, and fight enemies in continuous 3D sailing)?

Hmm. That's not nice.
I wonder how this statement was derived?

Not only familiar..I worked with a seaward team and know many of those guys personally.
We were referring here to the modding work we have done here at PiratesAhoy ourselves.
I didn't think you would have tried our mod or spent a lot of time with it. But then... I do not know and I could very well be wrong.

My main point is that referring to the PotC Build Mod DirectSail functionality could have been confusing to you.
So a different explanation might have been needed to clarify on what FlyingGhost meant above.

Anyway, there is no judgement in my post. Just wanted to make sure any confusion is clarified on. :doff

Well, you can get an idea of what I'm talking about here, I'm referring to the DirectSail as used mostly in the Iron Man mode (where the distances between islands are somewhat accurate, so it'd take the appropriate in-game days to sail from Jamaica to Barbados for example, about ten-twelve days without encounters I reckon, which would be about 8-9 hours of real time sailing if you use the x3 - that is x30 in game/real time - scaling mostly). What I'd like to know, basically, is whether Naval Action's "Open World" will work more like the "World Map" in the Arcade mode of New Horizons or the DirectSail as enforced in the Iron Man mode.
