WIP City of Abandoned Ships: Historical Immersion-Gentlemen of Fortune Supermod

It is O.K. if I take the file off of Dropbox? Do you have it?

Any progress on the executable installer?
If it is ready, please upload and share the link.

I've got it downloaded. Didn't manage to do anything with it yet though, because I'm a bit sick and tired of computers lately.
Were there still any other fixes/modifications you wanted to have included? If not, I'll see what I can do. Hopefully soon.

It will add mainly sound updates. Realistic cannon sounds, a music scheme changer with multiple music schemes, etc.

is there a download and do you need a verison of gof to patch it over
GOF 2.0 is the maximum right now as the installer is still being made. The contents is a patch over from stock COAS. In short speak; nay matey there is no GOF version required to patch over.

thanks matey :woot finally someone who speaks my slang cant wait till it comes out
I am the one who did the content of this update. Merging the extra content of the Historical Immersion: Supermod for AOP1 also revamped by me and a few others from this community.

On a side note however: I gave a test game of the Historical Immersion Supermod to David Binkley who to my knowledge is not a member of our forums, however he is a genuine C/C++ coder and could really help me implement features that weren't able to be implemented before or some that weren't realized. He could also help me fix fatal errors and bugs that are currently undetected.

Nope. It is done!

I am resurrecting the AOP1 thread I started and hope to implement new features and fix some previously undetectable bugs that David Binkley will help me with. I revamped the music system once again to be more updated with GOF2.5. I plan to fix some big bugs and some other fixes. I also plan to revamp the Dutchman Quest and introduce correct ship tags for the moddships in battleinterface.c. I finally plan to do a simple revamp of the cannon particle system for realism.

P.S. He is a C/C++/C#/VB/Java coder and is also my teacher.

I finally got round to extracting your file, so hopefully I'll be able to compile it into an installer soon.

Would you be interested in learning how to do that yourself? All the programs required are free and it isn't really all that difficult.
Especially once you know a few tricks, which I'd be happy to share with you. :doff

Well, I managed to remove >300MB of identical files from the original game and your mod as now compiling.

As promised earlier, the installer has been compiled and uploaded now here:
http://piratesahoy.bowengames.com/COAS/aop2_coas_gof2-5_hi.exe

You're welcome to post it onto ModDB whenever you get the chance. :doff

Hopefully this works the way it should. I didn't test it due to severe lack of time.
Let me know if you are interested in how to make such installers, so that you can make your own in the future.

To whomever installs this game: I strongly suggest an immediate defrag after installing it and just before playing it. I tinstalled scattered all over my hard drive and it is now taking longer to defrag that in took to download it.

The game options work AFTER you start a game.

The mod options do not seem to work, period.

My mouse hangs and sometimes spins out in this game too.

The clouds in the world map look much better in the JSCMod.

That mouse thing be some sort of issue with the game itself then.
Could you try without any mods just to be sure?

So, I got into some battles and captured some ships, and went jungle jiving in this game. No mouse issues at all except in the stores. It would sometimes spin there.

I captured a Neptunus sloop of war. Now I just have to get her painted in my Christmas colors. :love

@Hylie Pistof Just out of curiosity mate, what kind of mouse are you using, and what port is it connected to?
