Promotion on Social Media

Right on, I understand! There's a "concepts" section of Greenlight that lets you put up well, a concept. It could be a way to see how much interest there is from that community, without actually having to commit to putting anything up.

As for the commercial part, I honestly have no idea. I do see free to play games on there. Some supported by micro transactions, and others seemingly not.

Interesting, we may soon have other options beside Youtube, I just ran across this post over at NeoWin :

Twitter is in the middle of some major changes to its platform. Just yesterday we reported on one big feature that’s currently rolling out to many users, but it looks like the social network is far from done and a new major addition has just surfaced.

Back in Novermber Twitter announced it would be expanding its media serving capabilities in a bid to raise the interest of advertisers. Back then a native video player and video card support were announced as upcoming features but now it looks like the social network’s video ambitions go much further than that.

It look like Twitter is building its own video service, one that could eventually compete with Google’s Youtube. If you visit video.twitter.com you’ll be greeted by a prompt where you can request access to the service. But that’s not to say lots of info hasn’t already leaked about the project.

As TechCrunch reports the video service, slated to debut sometime this year, is somewhat barebones though it’s trying to make itself as attractive as possible to advertisers. The service doesn’t support any external videos such as YouTube, meaning Twitter is looking to build up its own video library.

You can read the rest of the story HERE!

Currently we have:
505 Subscribers on YouTube (642 views on the new trailer)
859 Likes on Facebook (1,230 people reached with the new trailer)
429 Followers on Twitter
804 Members on IndieDB (89 views on the new trailer)

Not bad. But we haven't even reached 1000 on any of the profiles yet. Would be nice if we could manage that this year.
So that means: Letting more people know, posting the links everywhere, etc! :cheers

Interesting. Not sure I am too excited about that, though.
That would be yet another place to post the same file to. Things are so much easier when they're grouped together and not all over the place. :facepalm

That is certainly true, just another option though should Google's option for pay channels transform in to something hideous. Though we could always post to Vimeo too, and still embed them in the forum.

I think once @Captain Murphy's Oculus video gets the right exposure, we will see the memberships and views change across the board. I am really looking forward to a Pirate Islands Oculus video!

Indeed that seems to get quite a few people interested! And I would like to see such a video too.
Perhaps we should take bets on the number of times @Captain Murphy will use the word "amazing" in that video! :rofl

I don't think I can count that high!:checklist

@Alexey1906,
While we do like to see HoO gather interest in Russian world, there are a lot of false information in there, firstly "Multiplayer game". HoO never planned to have Multiplayer, or 'player classes'. People in the comments already compare it to NA and ask if there'd be ship crew co-op and guilds (like Blackwake).
Then "бой с морскими таранами" - Ship rams? HoO team officially denies having anything to do with rams, and promise to make people suggesting it, walk the plank!:walkplank

@Thagarr, maybe promo team could see if our material is clear enough for russian-speaking promotion volunteers, like Alexey here?
This is not my paper. I wrote your wishes in the comments and I hope the redactor will make changes.

Well, so much for my cunning plans to add a trireme with 32 pounders! :facepalm

Thanks Pieter :doff
Yesterday, if i didn't make any mistake the mod popularity was 343 on ModDB and right now it is 116 :cheeky Let's hope you can return in the TOP 100

I just ran across this, looks like it was set up back in February of 2014. I don't recall anyone ever mentioning it before, someone has setup a page for Hearts of Oak over vk.com, basically it is a Russian version of Facebook. Looks like we have quite a good Russian following! You can find the page HERE!
