Sinking the Vogelstruijs

I played this and it worked- but it is possible to avoid whole storyline if using a fast travel from governor's place straight to the ship as i did :wp so i was first like "where is that damn ostrich!?" - i had to return back to town to find that crewmember with green bandanna to make it workxD: - maybe you could disable fast travel after the quest is given so this error would be impossible to make.....

also when talking with that greenbandannaguy i had to choose "encounter at sea" so it works- but choosing another option causes game to crash.....

and again after Vogelstruijs blows up- speeding up time is impossible before you return to governor....not really a issue, but guy is damn slow runner without it :D

I noticed that after a "self dialog", you cannot speed up time until you talk to another character. ANY other character. Just talking to a random citizen in town already fixes it.

Thomas the Terror and others, I'd like to propose the attached image as a replacement for the current somewhat depressing Tales of a Chevalier Storyline start screen.

:yes

Also what about the current Tales of a Chevalier storyline start screen to replace the Assassin Start screen - ( the man standing over the coffin of a man he has killed - very Assassin like :yes )

That's a thought for sure, though that picture looks more "sad" than "bad-ass assassin" to me.
Also, when your victim has made it into his coffin already, it's good practice for the assassin to no longer be there.
Though the person could be somebody else; he doesn't LOOK like Johan Elting, that's for sure.

guys i am stucked after i sink that ship vogelstruijs after i blow the cargo i get the loading screen .just before the view of vogelstruijs sinking i get error.how i fix that plz tell me thanks in advance.i play Build 14 Beta 3.2 Full

Eh? Tales of a Chevalier is a free play storyline with little or no story. What you can read about it in this thread is all there is.

So now here's my latest thinking on this storyline....

We want to keep the Tutorial in the Free Play storyline, so to keep la Croix, something should be added before.
How about replacing Stormy Start with the "capture on Spanish shore" scene for the gambler player type?

I am also thinking that "Sinking the Vogelstruijs" could work well as a generally available sidequest in ALL storylines.

This part has now been split off to become a generally available sidequest.
However, the dialog still clearly refers to it being part of the unfinished La Croix storyline.
Would anyone be interested in rewriting this stuff a fair bit so that it makes logical sense for ALL player characters and not just La Croix?

Huh. I have never done that one. Don't even know how to get to it.
Wha? But you always play with the La Croix opening, don't you?
This is just the second part. After you escape from Havana, you go to the French Hôpital and talk to the governor there to continue with this story.
Unless I am very much mistaken, the Quest Book sends you that way as well.

For years I could not beat that Spaniard on the beach the intended way so never started the storyline.

Then there was a period where I COULD beat him in the duel and continue the storyline from there. That gives me a big Fluet. Yes I have talked to the governor on Hopital but was more interested as using that big Fluet as a merchantman than as a warship, so declined his offer.

Well, that would explain it. Perhaps you would consider playing that quest some time in the future though. Just so you can say you've done it. :cheeky

While the default setting for La Croix is now Rogue, especially for @Hylie Pistof I ensured it works and makes sense for Gambler too.
So any Free Play Gambler character will get the La Croix opening. Sounds good?
