This is just a thought because I know adding storylines is a huge effort that takes a lot of time and commitment, and for that reason they're mostly personal endevours of the developers who work with what they like the most, but at the moment I noticed there does not appear to be any storyline based on a Spanish character, which seems like a shame. So if anyone in the team feels the same and likes the ideas, there's a couple of historical characters I can think of that could make for interesting storylines, particularly Blas de Lezo (the Battle of Cartagen de Indias could make for an epic multi-stage battle with sea and land sections) or Antonio Barceló (he was a courier xebec captain, then corsair and then navy officer and, although he was active in the Mediterranean only against Barbary pirates, he could be transplanted to fighting regular pirates in the Caribbean, as was done with parts of the Hornblower storyline). Something in the Explorers era would fit too, dealing with conquistadors and Indians.

Just my thoughts:napoleon

There is indeed a bit of a "gap" for the Spanish, though it's not as bad as it appears at first sight.
After all, what we do have is this:
- Several pre-defined Spanish characters for the Free Play storyline
- The Assassin storyline has the (Dutch) player working for the Spanish for a substantial amount of time at the beginning
- The "Devlin Opera" (unfinished and abandoned) storyline was deliberately set to start you with a Spanish character in the Early Explorers period

That could actually be really cool!
Might fit in well with the rest of the "Devlin Opera". :yes

I've also wanted to see the indians expanded a bit more for a while, as it'd be pretty cool to say, find an island covered with them/surrounded by little war canoes and you have to sack/take the settlement playing as the Spanish. :D

Free-Play also provides a way to put your choice of historical character into the game without going to all the trouble of writing a storyline. There was a thread somewhere about how to create a Free-Play character - perhaps copy the relevant parts of it into the "Tutorials" section?
