Abandoned Navy Ship Prefixes

As you guys might have noticed, English navy ships get the "HMS" prefix and American ones get "USS".
It is very easy to add that same functionality to other nations and I have now done so in my own game:

I'm not sure which of those actually make sense in the game though.
Some of them are definitely too modern.

So I require feedback on which ones we do and don't want to use.

I think it should be based on the historical designations. If a nation didn’t use any then maybe not use them here. HMS has pretty much been used since forever and probably will be until forever, so that one is safe. I dunno about the others, can’t say I’ve really come across them. Is ESPS a sports channel?

I agree only historical ones should be used.

I spent a good while on Wikipedia last night grabbing lots of ship names, and I can say that I didn’t notice a single prefix for any ship other than the British ones.

The USS one is pretty well known.
The Dutch one using archaic language suggests it has been around for a while.
The other ones I think are pretty modern.

Spanish ships didn't use any prefixes in the timeframe of the game (or ever). I'm fairly certain French and Portuguese didn't use them either.

Apparently the "Zr.Ms." prefix for Holland was started in 1817:
Zr.Ms. en Hr.Ms. | Zijner Majesteits en Harer Majesteits
So that is only the very end of the final time period. Might as well keep only "HMS" and "USS" then.

Sounds sensible. It's a cool idea to have more prefixes, but including NATO designations might seem a little out of place by a few hundred years.

Indeed if the prefixes aren't accurate for the period, there's no point having them.
Well, at least we checked. And now know for sure we don't need any more than we already had.

I did already add them to the code, but left them commented out.
At least that should make it clear for code archaeologists in the future that they are not there on purpose.
