Outdated Where did all the treasure quests go?

Fluen

Freebooter
As mentioned in another thread I'm famous, pirate and enemies with all nations but the pirates. Is that why nobody offers me treasure quests anymore?

I have tried to land on islands under other flags than the pirate flag, but still no offers. I do maintain a positive reputation.

Do you still have a Treasure Quest active? As long as there is one in progress, you won't get another.

If you think you don't have one active, please post a savegame so I can check what is going on.

I don't have an open treasure quest. Here is a savegame. At this point it's quite some time since the last quest. And the Artois Voysey mission is open, because he captained a ship, which sank. But that didn't prevent me from getting treasure quests - at that point, at least.

@Fluen: What modpack version are you running according to your main menu?
It seems to be really very old; must be much older than the Build 14 Beta 4 public release.
For that reason I cannot load your savegame and double-check.

You could try to execute this through console; it may help:
Code:
DeleteAttribute(PChar, "treasureloc");

But regardless of that, I strongly suggest updating to the latest version that can be found here:
Mod Release - Build 14 Beta 4.1 WIP | PiratesAhoy!

New game required when upgrading from the version you've got now.

I think I use build 14.0. As I've never grown tired of the many variations of the standard quest (Nathaniel Hawk), I've never played the other characters and thus never felt ready to move on to a newer build.

build 14.0
That version doesn't exist. Your exact version is shown in your game's main menu.
You can also post your compile.log, which would contain the same information.

There are many, many other reasons to update to a new version that aren't the storylines.
The amount of fixes and improvements is quite high by now. Just have a skim through the list here:
Mod Release - Build 14 Beta 4.0 Public Release | PiratesAhoy!
And here:
Mod Release - Build 14 Beta 4.1 WIP | PiratesAhoy!

Point is that I cannot afford to properly support out-of-date modpack versions.
Maybe by suggestion works for you; I sure hope so.
But if not, there is nothing that can be done until you get the most recent version.

I did some digging and found the modpack version you are apparently running:
You must have Build 14 Beta 2.1, dated Wednesday 4 January 2012 which means you're a good four years behind! :shock
The most recent update was only 5 days ago.

I do remember that Beta 2.1 was generally quite a playable version of the mod.
But it definitely still has a lot of bugs that were fixed in the years afterwards.
Have a look at the various overview articles available here:
Articles - Pirates of the Caribbean: New Horizons mod for Pirates of the Caribbean

One thing that was introduced in Build 14 Beta 2.5, dated 26 June 2013, was an almost complete rewrite of the Treasure Quest functionality.
That means my suggestion posted above is most likely not going to work, because it assumed you had at least that version. :(

It did work! So I guess the command-line corrected something.

As I've reached high level now, I'll wait with downloading the newest build, until I get a new case of binge-playing Pirates.

You were REALLY lucky then! :onya

Just in case, there are cheats available in the mod to bump you straight up to a high level in the new versions too.
In fact, if you select an Admiral as Free Play character, you can even start the game with a fleet without even using any cheats at all. :cheeky
