High Priority Apothecary Quest Bugs ( contains Spoilers )

This was a regrettably unfinished quest, not a storyline.
The person who wrote it started work on a lot of things, but finished only a few of them.

But is it not intentional that you are land locked for a while?
If I recall, you're meant to use an alternate means of transportation at some point.

when you are back in Brigdtown you cant enter the ship anymore
Fixed.

In Cartagena though you don't have your own ship as you got there on Robert Cook's ship.
You can return to Bridgetown by speaking to him.

This quest isent finished yet.
No, but I'm trying to make something
interesting to happen at the Cartagena hotel before you get the mysterious plants.

I have uoloaded on the ftp "JRH apothecary sidequest".

bugfixes:
you could get stuck if going back to Bridgetown from port too early
plants given up: apothecary dialog disabled and repeated itself when enabled
pchar ship not in Greenford when returning from Cartagena
wrong number of lines in Mary Seacole.h, apothecary_quest.h

added:
hint in questbook to return to apothecary when delivered 10 bows
pchar follows what the indian.spy is up to in tavern
quicksave before indian fight in warehouse (crashes sometimes)

spelling mistakes: 8

changes:
moved reload locators in Cartagena_center closer to Hotel doors
finished the side-quest by adding some action at the Cartagena Hotel which is what I have focused on.

I have not yet traced/fixed any of the reported bugs. Maybe later. I'll need a brake from this now. :ko

Very awesome! Even if some of those issues that were reported still persist, it sounds like it is much better than before.
Actually having an ending to the quest is also... pretty important for a quest. Thanks very much, @Jack Rackham. :bow

Thanks you very much for doing this @Jack Rackham sorry I wasn't able to finish it.
I do hope you liked the rest of it. I will try to play trough this to see what you made of this quest :).
Hopefully soon I have some more time again and I can really look at it.

Welcome back @Levis. :onya
Hope you like the end of the apothecary quest in the Cartagena Hotel.
I got inspired by those hotel room doors + reused a bunch of WoodesRogers 'mummies'.
It's more about avoiding fights this time.

I have only fixed a few questbugs so far. See post #84. Many loose ends remain.
I have collected the reported bugs from the forum in this excel-file.
One thing that seems to make trouble here & there are unarmed indians.

I was originally planning on using the hotel room I added. but I will look at your ending soon.
What you probably didn't knew and what I will fix later is that the whole idea of the quest was to be able to buy ayahuasca at the apothecary also (incase aruba is disabled). So I might change some of your things later.
I expect to be able to look at these things next week or else after 2 or 3 weeks, so thanks for gathering it.

Was the code a bit easy to understand? Do you like the quest?

Was the code a bit easy to understand?
The code wasn't that difficult but what can happen is rather complicated. Many cases.
Also that several sidequests are linked together.
The apothecary dialog is really difficult to follow as it's using several dialog files at the same time.
(If I got it right)

Do you like the quest?
Yes I do!

My quest end is when you deliver some ayahuasca plants to the apothecary so maybe you can take it from there?

Yeah it does, sorry about that :p. I tried to put some comments in the dialog files if I remember right but I can imagine its hard to read.

Yes I do!
:cheers

Good job on the wiki article btw. Looks like you've got about everything :). I'm suprised you found the tomas o'reilly thing ;).

Just so you know, not too long ago I changed the behaviour for the opening of the regular O'Reilly Smuggling Quest.
It now gives dialog to explain why it isn't available and it requires the same "smuggler liking" that you need for actually dealing with the smugglers.
So most players will be able to do it right away at the beginning of the game.

I'm talking about something else ;).
It's hidden somewhere in the spoilers in the wiki article

@Levis, here's something to put in the console.c for a junpstart to test my addition in the Cartagena Hotel.

Code:
//start Cartagena port before hotel
                SetCurrentTime(01.00, 0);
                ref sld = characterFromID("Robert Cook");
                LAi_SetStayType(sld);
                ChangeCharacterAddressGroup(sld,"Cartagena_port","goto","goto11");
                sld.Dialog.Filename = "apothecary_quest.c";
                sld.Dialog.CurrentNode = "Arrived at Cartagena";
                pchar.quest.mysterious_plants.donate = 1000;
                LAi_QuestDelay("Depart To Columbia Fade",0);

After talking to Cook kill/bribe any of the sitting indians to get the hotel_flyer etc etc

I've looked at the code already and seems you had some fun with it. I haven't been able to look at it ingame (working 10 hours a day and peparing to go on a holliday and having some meetings for events I organise seem to drain a lot of time :p ).
But I will look at it when I'm back.

@Jack Rackham: I found the following message on our ModDB Page:

Mermaid00 Aug 2 2016

Sorry guys I was just capable to write here. I've got stuck with 14 Beta 4.1 WIP in the mission called Mysterious Plants (Apothecary Quest ), I'm in the Indian Motel, but the skeleton priest (He's the last one) doesn't want to disappear. He needs one more thing but I can't find it anywhere. And I gave him the crucifix. Please help! Because this task is so cool, I want to finish it. I uploaded a video about my struggling on you tube, it might show more. Thank you. Here's the link for the video:

I failed to make a google....something so I can't answer this in the right place.

I answered on the ModDB but must have missed it here.

The second priest item is a bible. It's found in a locked chest in the dark attic passage.
Look to the right from where you first enter the room.
