I'm looking for the earliest version that has a lot of bug fixes so I can incorporate them into the "clean" stock game for now, but I'd like to see how your version plays.

I chime in with what I know about.

GOF 1.2 links:
Gentelmen of Fortune! v1.2 Full Release file
GoF! 1.2 Full Release Patch file - Age of Pirates 2: Gentlemen of Fortune mod for Age of Pirates II: City of Abandoned Ships

I also have a patch strictly for Vanilla COAS that I've worked on. Although it contains a few slight changes that were borrowed from GOF 1.2, like additional display information in the shipyard (cannons on board), or in the store (how many days rum/food), it is very close to stock, mostly fixes bugs I encountered. For one example instance, a case when the PC has a bounty and manages to converse with the mayor of an enemy town, there is a possibility to either pay for status improvement or arrested for execution. The problem arises when execution is determined, yet the game calls a missing function for execution that that was never developed in the COAS released version, thus freezing the game. I removed that function call and merely cause a fight to ensue. There is also some text cleanup, name inconsistencies fixed, etc. But it is overwhelmingly left stock.

You can get it here:

https://mega.nz/#F!WtMDgRxK!hbeUg86kGLlQAqvWRNwTqg

AOP2.Patch.zip = patch files for vanilla COAS with fixes
GOF1.2Patch.zip = patch files for GOF 1.2 with fixes

I also fixed things in GOF 1.2 that can be folded in with the GOF1.2Patch.zip after the original GOF 1.2 full release and patch from the moddb links above.

You, Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

Holy Cow, how big is that first file? I'm getting odd messages when I request a download. It mentions files larger than 2 GB might require 7zip and that 7zip isn't supported by all operating systems. It also wants to "store files on this device" and I've never seen that before, even from mega.nz when downloading stuff.

EDIT: Never mind. It was 92.3 MB, and downloaded successfully, although it didn't look like it was doing it normally. I had clicked on "Download as zip" which may have thought I meant to download everything.

Looking directly at my MEGA dir on their web site, they display the size of AOP2.Patch.zip as 92.3 MB. Not sure about your experience with these messages. I just selected 'Download/Standard download' using Firefox and did not receive any prompts and it succeeded with an option to either open with my 7zip, or save file on disk. I have just the free Mega account, so not much experience with them other than my AoP work and have not heard from others having any download difficulty so far.

Thanks, @ChezJfrey. I edited my post above, but the forum software doesn't always show you the current version. I was able to get the download just fine.

I've only downloaded a few things from mega.nz, so I'm a noob there.Turns out I probably clicked on the wrong button.

Et voilà. GOF_1.0.exe (1,99 GB) - uploaded.net
This is GoF 1.0. Please try to down it like that (unpacked). If that's not possible without a premium account because of the size, then I'll do the not-just-permanently-download-rar-files-but-also-learn-to-pack-by-yourself-noob-move tomorrow:monkeydance
GoF 1.1 is coming too.

Woah, thanks @Marki! I missed this when you first posted it.

I think the limit is 5 GB for a normal account (for mega.nz at least). I'll give the download a try tonight during the unmetered bandwidth time for my satellite Internet.

Hook

@Marki it was indeed too big, but thanks.

Never send me to uploaded.net again. I understand the need to monetize a site, but these people are trying far too hard.

Hook

? :). really. your post sounds a bit like there would be a problem. But there isn't. Well, one thing is for sure, you don't like uploaded.net, do you? :rofl me, I don't care about that website, just remembered a friend having a premium account there, and thought that would be a way to upload it. But I don't mind, you're invited to name the upload site of your choice (as you were from the beginning), no problem for me at all.

@Marki, if you were using a friend's premium account, maybe you've never seen what that site looks like to the typical visitor.

It's not that I mind adult advertising, even multiple ads per page, but only when it's appropriate. It's not appropriate for a general file repository. Pop ups, pop unders (I found one an hour after I left the site), constant harassment, three download options with only one being free, then I couldn't download a file of about 2 GB. My security software should have warned me before letting me see the site, and it's usually pretty good about such things. I may submit the link to them for analysis and possible inclusion in the sites that give warnings.

Any site that would go as far as they did won't stop there.

I don't have a favorite site. I seldom have a use for one. Ask @Pieter Boelen which one he likes, as it would be nice if he got the file from there to put on the PA cloud. It looks like a lot of people are using MODDB and mega.nz these days.

Tried it, but no, unfortunately I'm not. I guess I should link it within my moddb account, right? Edit file. But there I can't make changes in "Link mods, games, engines, software, hardware, groups", so:shrug.

Hey there o/ has been a while aye?

Finally switching from GOF 2.1.5 Beta to latest GOF ERAS Module 2 (aka 2.6.0).
For obvious reasons, since this is the only GOF Version being worked on, with major improvements
and Code changes. Still wait for the renewed persmission from the MOD owner(s) to alternate my
installation of the mod. Along with some instructions i asked for.

But then i finally ll start playing AoP2 COAS GoF 2.6.0 :D

So long

Hi @GHOSTMD. We can't really support the Eras mod here, but you should be able to get everything you need on the Eras main forum.

I'm not sure what permissions you might need. If it's anything from GOF 2.1.5 then ask here.

And good luck with the new mod.

Hook

Greetings @LarryHookins,

i still have the permission or 2.1.5 beta Achived the Mail, but since 2.6.0 made some major changes
like switching to DX9 i just asked again, my changes will be "minor" though.
Just adjusting my prefered ship, roll back to 2.1.5 character "range" since i still feel the ERAS Module
is kinda "overloaded" and i like AoP 2 Coas more into the fantasy setting ;)

But better ask, before sorry, just wait now for my Mail being answered ;)

Seems NO LUCK is needed with this instance of the MOD, already tested some things out to
reproduce old BUGS from 2.1.5 and they are all gone for good (so far)
At least on my RiG with my drivers and installion of AoP 2

I know it's a little late, but for the sake of future readers, GoF is the successor to the combined mod. After CMv3.2 we decided that the mod had reached a point where it deserved a name. Gentlemen of Fortune saw a large reduction in the number of ships added by the mod, a bit of cleanup, the addition of some new features (I believe that GoF 1.0 integrated the books that Firebat, Thagarr, and I made), and in general is likely the better choice. I believe that the final released build of GoF here was 1.4b.
