Elizabeth Shaw Quest

Jason

Buccaneer
Storm Modder
I dropped in to see the governor Shaw on Cayman looking for pirate hunting and he asked me find his missing daughter. I am playing the main quest so, is this a side quest or did some ohter quest line slip in here?

And could I get a little help? I have been to Phillipsburg, talked to the governor after successful priate hunting, talke to the inn keeper and been to the Bas d'Orient beach and found the dead British soldier, but I can't move himn or loot his corpse and nothing appears in the quest book. So am I missing something? I have walked all around the beach and found nothing. I have even left the beach and come back still nothing. Gone back to the tavern keeper and he has no dialogue line for this on the second visit.

Any help would be apprecitated.

You are absolutely right about this and -eventually- I'll look into this one. I did some work on this quest in the past, but never did finish it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
You should be able to "talk" to the corpse, but it has been found that doesn't work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Just to let you know, we've got a bug tracker on the forum now: <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showforum=38" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showforum=38</a>

Hey guys! Sorry to bring this nearly decade old thread back, but i thought it would be more appropriate to use this one rather than make a new one.
I'm having the exact same issue, with the latest version. The only difference is that i can't even find the dead body. There's nothing in Baie D’Orient. And yeah, i'm doing this after talking to the merchant and the Quest book tells me to go there.

Cheers, and forgive me if i did wrong posting my question here.

Can you load a savegame from before you talk to the fisherman? Then, after talking to the fisherman, post the file "compile.log". You should find this in the top level of the game installation folder (not in "PROGRAM" or "RESOURCE").

Nothing wrong with reusing old threads; cheers! :cheers

Just to be certain, could you please post any .log files from your main game folder that remain after the error occurred?
Also, please let us know the exact game/modpack version according to your main game folder, including the version number and date.

Ahoy mateys, sorry for the delay guys and thanks for your quick answers.
Unhappilly i no longer have any saves previous to that situation, so can't really find its origin...
No problem anwyay, i've just moved on to other quests :)

Going a bit offtopic, i just want to congratulate you guys for your modding work on these pirates' games, specially New horizons. As a fan of pirate games, i was surprised that i had not found Piratesahoy community and New Horizons project before, since you've been doing this for quite a while. So i'll surely be around from now on :D
Also wanted to ask, if there is some way to donate to the projects' development? New horizons in particular? Through patreon or something. I'd surelly love to help.

Thanks guys

Cheers, mate! We much appreciate your appreciation. :diff

You can help by providing feedback.
Or you could at some point join in the modding itself, if you like. :cheeky

I've been playing this quest myself recently. The soldier appeared as he was meant to, but he's near the water line and half the time you can't see him because he's under water. It doesn't take long before the water moves back and he's visible, though.

If you leave the beach and then return, the soldier won't be there when you return. You have to go to Baie d'Orient, look for the soldier, and don't leave until you've found him.

Make sure you are at Baie d'Orient! There are two beaches on St. Martin: Baie d'Orient and Simpson Bay. If you sailed there by navigating manually (as opposed to just using "Sail To"), you might have landed at the wrong one.

Can that be enforced/avoided?

Probably. A combination of 'StartQuestMovie' and 'DisableFastTravel' should do the job - seal all exits and prevent teleport to ship.
