Confirmed Bug Vanderdecken: Teleportation from Isla de Muerta to Jamaica

Seems like an obvious tie. The fact that I "went to deck" from his cabin alone didn't cause it. I tested this later and my ship stayed, where it was supposed to be. It seems that me having my ship repaired there caused this effect. Since it is standard procedure that a ship ends up in the...

Need Help Tweaking or disabling floating goods at sea

BUT I CAN'T RESIST! :keith:rumgone Of course, I don't have to. And I typically don't. Which is why I find it a bit tedious. Nothing major, though.

Need Help Tweaking or disabling floating goods at sea

Hey guys, is there a way to tweak the chances for floating goods at sea? Or is it possible to disable it entirely? Because as it is, it happens far too often. To the point that “fishing for cargo” will allow the player to get his hands on lots of goods for free. Minus the piracy. It also is...

Confirmed Bug Vanderdecken: Teleportation from Isla de Muerta to Jamaica

Build 14 (August 2017 patch). The newest non WIP version if I am not mistaken.

Need Help Upgrading a Manilla Galleon

It probably would. There should imo only be an element of volatility to the ships' stats, when they are first generated by the game. But I think the national differences have this already covered. In my current "cursed" free play playthrough, I chose a carrack with pirate nationality. And it...

Confirmed Bug Vanderdecken: Teleportation from Isla de Muerta to Jamaica

I had something happening, where I am not sure if this was a bug or intended. When using the services of Vanderdecken (the shipwright) on the Isla Muerta (ship repair), I teleported directly on deck, ready to leave shore ..... only to realize that my ship was in the Kingston Harbor. So my ship...

Need Help Upgrading a Manilla Galleon

No, my skills were up to speed. I thought maybe it was because my Luck was terrible (carried two dead Albatrosses). But getting rid of them didn't cut it. Or does the player need to have really good skills (like way better than the skills for commanding the ship), when it comes to upgrading...

Need Help Upgrading a Manilla Galleon

    Looking at this stuff: if (rand(11) <= GetShipSkill(_char, SKILL_SNEAK)) { pertoadd=pertoadd+1; } // KK if (rand(11) <= GetShipSkill(_char, SKILL_SAILING)) { pertoadd=pertoadd+(0.5*j); } // KK Am I understanding this correctly? Your Luck ("Sneak") and sailing skill influence the degree...

Need Help Upgrading a Manilla Galleon

I recently purchased a Royal Manilla Galleon that had a max speed of 8.9 knots, despite no speed increasing upgrades in advance. I figured that this was an excellent attribute for such a ship, bought it and wanted to uppgrade it. But when I did so, (adding the higher masts and cotton sails) she...

Awaiting Info Captains getting swift level ups in a heartbeat

There appears to be a bug, where all ship captains of my fleet (including myself) level up like crazy, whenever there is a ship with seriously destroyed rigging in the fleet. Typically as a consequence of being dismasted. I assume it has something to do with the repair skill. Going into a loop...

Planned Feature Trading (at a profit)

An other hint is to concentrate on the main markets (read: the settlements with the highest amounts in stockpiled goods). They have like six or more times the amounts of goods available. Prices there consequently shift much slower, which gives the smart trader more leeway when buying or selling...

Getting awarded land as a privateer.

Alright, I memorized it the other way apparantly. BTW, is there a way to join the military in-game, should one fancy a naval career mid-game?

Getting awarded land as a privateer.

For some reason I get awarded acres of land right away as a privateer (from the first rank on). Wasn't that supposed to be delayed until the upper ranks? At least as far as privateers are concerned.

Linking cargo type to encounter type

Sounds like a great idea! @ Pieter: These treasure fleets, how can you recognize them?
