Feature Request A thought about the walk-through player buildings...

Sorry if this has already been proposed or tried but I was thinking about the walk-through buildings that the player can make. Now, the buildings can’t have collision detection attached but the characters they are attached to do, correct?

Can there be more than one attached character per building? Could you, for example, line the inside of the building with immobile characters just far enough inside that they don’t show through the walls?
 
Interesting thought. There is a limit on the amount of character models in a location though.
 
Not sure. We once tried making a building shaped character but that didn't work.
 
Okay, another thought. Can you make buildings, with the proper colission, that don't appear until you do something thenleave and come back? What I mean is, what if you set aside a couple of places where you could make some buildings and have one of each type premade but they don't appear until a set period of game time after you pay for them. So you tell your officer "Build a cannonball foundry" and a week later the cannonball foundry is activated as a permanent building in that area at its preset location.

Essentially the entire player built "village" is done in advance at a predetermined location but the buildings only appear when you come back to that location after the correct time has passed.
 
Theoretically possible. I think that did that with some build-able/destructible stuff in the AoP towns.
Would require quite some work though and who is going to do it?
Myself, I'll try to get Beta 3.3 as playable as possible, but I'll be wanting to shift focus to Hearts of Oak as well. :facepalm
 
moved this here. Might be worth looking into if someone wants to torment himself.
 
I might look into this one time. and If I cant find something also I will then flag it as engine limitation and move it. This is just so I wont forget.
