WIP Raven's Cry: Role-Playing Action Adventure Game

Raven's Cry to be released on November 27, 2014 on PC, Mac and SteamOS/Linux

Karlsruhe, 10. Oktober 2014

Ahoy! The winds were on our side for a good bit there, but alas, we’ve hit some rough seas, and it looks like Raven's Cry will be arriving in port a bit late. We need more time to scrub the decks and get the guns in working order. We could have just sped through these treacherous waters — land was right over the horizon! But no captain worth his salt would put his ship on such a perilous course; after all, we’re beholden to our loyal fans and our extraordinary community to deliver an exciting and perfect pirate adventure.
All the recordings have been made, all features are on board, but no sailor feels safe when his ship is listing. So, to make sure we can count on smooth sailing form here on out, Raven's Cry will now be released on November 27, 2014 for PC and Mac, the retail and console versions will be out in the first quarter of 2015. But there’s some good news as well! We recently picked up a coded message in a bottle informing us that our pirate epic will be coming out on November 27, on Linux and SteamOS, too.

It will be interesting to see how the game turns out

At this point, I am beginning to doubt the game will ever be released. I have been keeping an eye on this thread for a while now, mainly just to keep myself amused. At this point though, it is becoming downright laughable! This game has been in development since at least 2009. It has been so long I forget exactly when.

It is starting to remind me of the debacle that was Captain Blood, which was announced in 2004, changed development companys and storylines at least twice, was finished by 1C in 2010, and then promptly cancelled because they couldn't find anyone willing to release it. Although 1C officially has never said it was cancelled, but the last date on the web page was 2011. There was a guy that got his hands on a demo copy of the game, you can read about that HERE! If you haven't seen the game and are curious, you can watch a presentation video of the game on Youtube HERE!

Anyway, on to my original point of this post, Raven's Cry has once again been delayed and pushed back! I know, I know, tough to believe, but I have proof, read on!

TopWare Interactive Announces New Release Date for Raven’s Cry

Raven’s Cry postponed until January 28, 2015

Karlsruhe, December 12, 2014 –

The release date for Raven’s Cry is being postponed until January 28, 2015. We had hoped our dark pirate epic would be ready in time for the Holidays, so those of you who buy it could put it under the Christmas tree. But we’re not willing to rush things make any compromises with this project, so we decided to give this complex RPG adventure a little bit more time to make sure all the blades are nice and sharp, so to speak. After all, we owe it to our fans, who have been waiting a long time for a such an exciting pirate experience.

In addition, we’re going to be releasing some gameplay material from our dark pirate adventure very soon, and even all the landlubbers will see that Christopher Raven will soon be launching his quest for revenge on their hard drives.

New release dates:
Digital PC|Mac|SteamOS|Linux January 26, 2015
Retail PC|Mac|PS3|PS4 January 28, 2015

Not that I particularly care mind you, but I thought I would let those of you who are looking forward to the game know that you will not see it yet again this year.

:rumgone my prediction for this game is leaning towards it being bad - Reality pump DRM with Steam DRM (i would not be surprised if reality pump was causing issues) and these constant delays leave me wondering what is going on.

Absolutely i could be completely wrong and honestly i hope i turns out well i am just a bit of a cynic and cant help myself :wp

Obviously, you have never heard of Duke Nukem Forever, a game that literally took forever to create! Although, this one is a third of the way there! :wp

They must know the truth, I will not be kept silent! :aar

Well the Duke Nukem-3D was my first online game I played. 28K modems or 56.6K modem dial up. Jet packs and 100 of rounds of ammo.

Was going to make a much longer post but honestly ,

Working with your thinking everybody who likes http://www.gog.com/ would not actually buy anything from them.

We will hopefully see the results of that conversation later this month.

for a start.

Working with your thinking everyboy who likes http://www.gog.com/ would not actually buy anything from them.

If you have been following Ravens Cry's Discussion (steams version of a games forum) on steam you will see that the devs opened the floor to discussion on DRM,

I had to edit my post several times to make it as respectful as possible, honestly a waste of my time but I couldn't help but to be annoyed. To not buy a game because of DRM? What a fucking joke.

Ideally we would not have any DRM, ideally we would not have taxes, ideally everyone could make money not having to have a job. Com on, it is not a big deal, most those people on steam had no intention of buying the game in the first place, are just talking out their ass and will buy it or really do want the game but actually are not going to buy it because of DRM.

How stupid is that?
