WIP Raven's Cry: Role-Playing Action Adventure Game

Baby Face Nelson, no one in this thread was discussing not buying this game because of DRM, it was mentioned as a reason for the hold up. What was discussed on Steam does not concern me in the least. Let me make this perfectly clear, this flame war stops now.

If you wish to continue this discussion, take it back to Steam, we will not tolerate cross site flame wars or any similar behaviour on PA. If you wish to remain on this forum, you will make yourself acquainted with our forum rules.

If you think you will use up 5 activation's (that is 5 different computers or 5 different IPs?) and are also afraid that the company anytime even in the late future will go out of business without taking off the DRM for the game then maybe you shouldn't buy Raven's Cry.

Maybe you are one out of (a trillion?) people that DRM would actually effect, I think that their are a lot of immature and or people who pirate games that are complaining on that steam forum about DRM. Steam alone is DRM, so that is sort of a cock blocker for pirating right their.

I don't even think you could have a game on Steam that you purchased and the company go out of business screwing you over from playing it. With the way Steam is ran I am sure Valve has some kind of policy on that.

It is ridiculous, no it is just straight asinine to complain about DRM in my opinion, but to not buy a game because of it? My only thinking to that is you want to pirate the game and in fact do not intend to purchase the game.

One of the many pros to DRM by the company:

"*once purchased, you get free updates for ever (e.g. Knights & Merchants, released 1998, last update 2014)"

released 1998, last update 2014, com on.

Then you have the argument "Well what if I want to lend the game to my friend?"

Seriously? If he/she is your friend and cannot buy the game him/herself they can come over and maybe if its a girl she can give you a blow job then you can let her play it on your computer at your house. Because apparently you used up your 5 activation's already.

Cons of DRM:

- serial key needs to be entered
- game needs to be activated
- only 5 activations, if you want more, you need to send an eMail request to support@topware.com

Going off on such a rant, just about a month after the previous DRM-related post was made
and using the words "asinine" and "fucking" is not respectful and also makes no sense.

A little one sided, but you did not leave any room for discussion, I honestly was just defending the game and its very mild common DRM. I am out of here.
Nobody actively attacked it and we as PiratesAhoy! have officially been promoting the game just like we do any other pirate or seafaring game.
Looks like you've been preaching to the choir for the most part here. :shrug

This is a very solid interview, it also confirms that their is no fairy tale magic (necessarily) in Ravens Cry. The Raven has a skill tree tied to it but we are not really sure what that will detail.

The interview was posted on March 14th, 2014, so things could have changed since this interview but I hope not. I really like everything I read.

This being posted in March 2014 some have probably read this,

The Raven has a skill tree?? I will refrain from making obvious puns and simply say I am glad to hear they took out the fairy tale magic stuff. Not glad enough to actually purchase the game if it ever gets released though. For me, it is way to little, way too late.
