Yes, but it should be enabled automatically in iron man mode, which it doesn't seem to be as of this patch.
 
Questions about salary that I did not see in 3.4.. not sure if something changed

Before if you skipped a salary monthly payment the next month would be the same as previous. (obviously would change if you had more crew)

Now it seems to be compounding month to month.. for instance skipped out on month salary did not have cash for 60k, this month they hit me for 180k

Numbers are close but not exact..


EDIT: Also noticed that you can add crew to your 2,3, and 4th ships in your 4 man group. If you add say a gunner to another captain's ship, does that have the same effect on that ship as your own?

Hasn't changed, no. The intention is that if you skip on paying salary, you'll have to pay for it next time.
 
No, that has never changed. If you miss a month it is added to the next months salary. There have been times when it takes almost all the money I got from a treasure quest to pay off the crew. :rumgone

- ENGINE.exe increased buffer size
- Free Play Storyline: Characters leveled up according to minlevel in initModels.c
- LevelUp_Cheat function created
- All upgrades deleted in GiveShip2Character function
- Navy Promotion Rewards first version completed. Testing and comments required!
- UNLIMITEDLOOT re-enabled, ship type check removed
- "Fort Commander Reinforcements" limited to Town and Port locations only
- Historical accuracy improved for Santo Domingo
- "Day for every hour sailing" disabled in Iron Man Game Mode
- Player type "Marine" now properly defined (some code was missing before)
- American tutorial updated
- Animists sidequest updates
- Dynamic texts for Quest Items corrected
- Vastly reduced player salary
- Pirate shipyards sell pirate design ships to characters without a LoM
- Ensure correct nation is used for random town character model choice
- Many minlevel, minrank and period changes to initModels.c
- Prevent nonsense "Quest not Found" messages
- Escort Quests: Random characters removed from destination port
- Jack Sparrow storyline "meet the crew" scene fixed
- Michiel de Ruyter character model updated
 
New game required I presume.
Actually, most of those changes don't require a new game at all.
The only ones that really do need it are the ones related to the early game anyway.
In any case, an old savegame should continue to work fine. Better than before, actually, due to the changes. ;)
 
Trudat! My old game works normally, but I started a new game anyway. I survived the start easily this time and now have a huge fluyt and a huge defrocked priest. The ship I chose as my starting ship showed up but replaced by said fluyt as it was supposed to.

The only problem so far is that I am French and I am flying the French flag in French ports but the merchants only want to send me to English ports on trade missions. France and England are hostile...............
 
Please make a bug tracker entry with a save.
Then I can check some time.
 
Ok. I have been getting around that by doing escort missions until they stopped giving them to me, and now I am doing nothing but smuggling. I just recently got Spain and Portugal to not be mad at me so that situation may be done now.
 
Ayup, it is no longer a problem it seems as the merchant on Puerto Rico just gave me a merchant job hauling cargo to Marigot.

That is the quest ship at Martinique. She'd be there in all periods.
Indeed we should probably replace her with some other ships again.
Can you make a Bug Tracker entry so I won't forget?

Stupid question but since I have not done a post zip is there a special way of installing? Or just re-download the installer.

The zip file is at the bottom of the first post of this thread. If you have already installed the uh, installer from the top of the post, then all you need is the zip.

If you already had the latest installer, you won't need it again.
Just extract the ZIP attached to the opening post on top of your game version too.

This is admittedly a bit more cumbersome, but it is easier to make a ZIP and upload it than to replace the EXE. :facepalm
 
New update did not effect old saved game.. Like the new look of Michiel de Ruyter!

Not sure if the pricing for ammo and gun powder were changed, but they are still having issues.

Once I take a ship over and try to distribute goods only two of my 4 ships area available. The other two come up saying Error and not the correct ship, anyone else see anything like this?
