"Sail to" command not working like it used to

Warboard1

Landlubber
Hi all, Just recently the "sail to" command isn't working like it used to. I used to be able to "sail to" any location, be it beach, lighthouse, fort, or port, that was close enough to my location.

But, just the other day I was in Jamaica and the option to "sail to" Port Royal was non existent, the only option I had was to "sail to" its fort. Jamaica is the only location where I couldn't "sail to" a port that I noticed so far. But in other places, like the Bermudas, I'm able to "sail to" the Pirate Settlement, but nothing else. Once I was finished at the Pirate Settlement I used to be able to "sail to" one of the close beaches and go to the world map and be on my way; Now I have to go to the world map, move close to the rocks, drop down to the sailing mode and make my way through the rocks, then pop back up to the world map.

I'm using the GoF 1.2 full release and full release patch. I've tried starting a new game, uninstalling and reinstalling everything, but nothing seems to make it go back to the way it was.

Any help would be awesome, I just can't figure out what to do.

Hey Folks,

I think I need some help! I was adding some new ships (only exchanging) and now, when I am near an island I only can teleport to the fortress or other ships, but no port or shore, what happend?

You used to be able to "sail to" but now you can not? I do not have that problem. Could something in options have gotten changed?

Huh! Someone else just reported the same problem. Could it be something in "options" got changed?

I've checked the options and the mods, but nothing seems to relate to the "sail to" command.

And I can still use it, the options of where to sail to are now severely limited. No matter how close I am to any beach, I cannot "sail to" it. Sometimes I can't "sail to" a port regardless to how close I am. The only locations I can "sail to" at all times now are forts.

One other player just reported the same thing. Could a realism setting be causing it to only let you sail to places you have already been?

If it is, I couldn't see it in the options or mod settings. I don't feel that would affect me, though, because when the "sail to" command stopped working, I was playing a character I've had for awhile. Beaches and ports that I used to be able to "sail to" I no longer have the option to.

So to me it seems like something wrong with the files, because it is affecting new characters and old ones.

You're referring to PotC Build Mof functionality there. Pretty sure no such feature was ever in CoAS. :no

What "options"do you mean and in what files? I compared the hole game with my former mod version, to find that piece of code, causing this, but nothing...

Hey, I'm just guessing. When two players have the same problem at the same time we have to figure out what they have in common.

Are both of you using GOF1.2 for instance?

Eh? What kind of ships are you buying? I think I recently sold a ship that the shipyard put up for sale for $60,000 or so, but most ships are in the $20,000 range or less. But who would want one of those dinghies?

On Windows XP does that.
From Windows 7, the function is no longer available sailing.
With the options that has nothing to do.

It is missing in the scripts a link.
There is no error message to.

Alright, I fixed it.

Under properties of AOP2 in Compatibility I turned off compatibility mode and now everything works the way it used to.

Thanks all for helping

Well it used to happen to me in windows 7 as well before i reformated the hard drive and since then it has happened once again with Bermuda only where i couldn't sail to a shore other that the pirate settlement.
