Need Help General Gameplay Questions

Is the temple worth checking out? If I direct sail there I might find a frigate that has front guns (don't know what the front of the ship is called )

As @Armada says, the Endymion class (or Artemise classe, the French equivalent) is probably the ship for you. It's a frigate but with 56 guns of 24lb, compared to the Advanced Frigate's 42 guns of 12lb. Good news - if you're playing as a British naval officer in the "Revolutions" or "Napoleonic" periods, you'll get one of these for free when you're promoted to Post Captain. But 1740? "Colonial Powers"? Where did you get the Advanced Frigate - that's the Razee frigate, a.k.a. "HMS_Indefatigable", and should not be available that early. (Nor, for that matter, should it be available to a naval officer through normal means. At rank 5 you ought to have a Unité class frigate, a.k.a. "RN_Surprise". Or in "Colonial Powers", you should have a Lyme class frigate, a.k.a. "HMS_Unicorn".)

To find Isla de Muerte, you need a very special compass. There's an island which is technically owned by France but effectively a famous pirate haven, and someone there may have what you require...

The front of a ship is the bow. Most ships should have a couple of guns there, including all the above-mentioned frigates. You won't find anything sailing around Isla de Muerte, though you may find Vanderdecken's shipyard where you may be able to buy all sorts of ships - if you have enough money, that is... As for Cozumel, you won't find anything special there either unless you play the "Standard" storyline, "Tales of a Sea Hawk".

As far as I know yes, once you get enough relation with a nation (including pirate), all you need is to go to the governor's house and a lady will appear with whom you can talk and eventually marry.

Yes, you can. Doesn't do very much though.
Hornblower storyline actually has a wedding ceremony now as well, courtesy of @Grey Roger.

Also, maybe you can keep your questions to a single thread.
That prevents forum clutter.

I got my eyes on two women wink wink nudge nudge just hope she enjoys the navy life ha
At present you can only marry governors' daughters and nieces, plus Hornblower has his own arrangements. All these wives stay at home - governors' relatives stay in the town hall where you met them, Mrs. Hornblower stays in the little house where you met her.

You can, of course, recruit female officers. But you can't marry them. So at present anyone you marry won't be joining you in the navy life, and anyone who enjoys the navy life won't be marrying you.
