Here are som new screens of the work! :)
Getting close to a finished result now.
I have yet to finish furnishing the Captains Quarters, the Officers Cabin, Hammocks in the sleeping area and add a few smaller details here and there to make it feel alive.
Aaaaand Cargo in the Orlop..

So that first picture is pretty much you showing off, right?
It's awesome! :woot

As we are now openly playing the v0.3 build of "Tides of War: Letters of Marque" I am also hosting a server - so if you play in America, you should get less ping on Captain Murphy's server - and less ping on mine of you are a European player.
We are trotting away with focus on v0.4 which means building up the code from scratch (again) to weed out inconsistencies in the code that needs not be there because of changes and updates in the meanwhile.

I am also plugging away with more focus on the ToW ships that soon will be making their way into v0.4.
I have now also started on a new frigate based on the 1799 HMS Essex.
Here is a quick screenshot of the current state of the build.

Please feel free to come and play Tides of War with us, and help us weed out bugs and share your thoughts on the current build - and what you want for the future of ToW.

I've been playing but can't figure out how to join a server; whenever I check the Q it's empty :shrug

On a side note, it's really coming along! Had an epic battle with 8 English ships yesterday in which I burnt two of them then got sunk by the rest trying to run away on a 4knot wind! :dance

Hey Robert!!

If the Q is empty it normally means the servers are down. we don't have them open constantly at the moment.

But I know @Captain Murphy has his open frequently these days, and I will have one open most evenings.

Murphy is US timezone and I am European so check in when you can and have a look if they are running ;)

Nice that you like it so far and have gotten a hang of it :onya
Look forward to sink... eh.. play with you soon :cheers:walkplank:rumgone:ship

Here is another quick update.
I have now started work on the Stern Gallery. And allot more details have come together throughout the deck as well.

Looking great! Having made a model of the (USS:napoleon) Essex of 1799 for potc myself, I have a degree of familiarity with the ship. Which plan(s) are you using? From the transom and the size of the head I'd guess chapelle rather than the anatomy of a ship ones. The hammock nettings in the waist are a nice touch!

Thanks mate!
Apprechiate your comment on it!

I have studied both, and in fact she has become a little bit of a mix... :rofl:rofl

I started off with the Anatomy of a ship version, then more and more went over to use the chapelle.

And there are a few borrowed elements here and there from other models I have made as well.

I am not really going for 100% accuracy on the Tides of War ships. more like basing the models on known ones.

The plan is that the player will be able customise the ships anyway - swap out galleries, binnacles, ship bells, figureheads and so on. And of course to some sense choose colors on the ships.

Nothing crazy like neon green and candy pink though :rofl
