My 9m Sailboat

Last year, I got myself this sailboat (pirate flag and cannons courtesy of @Grey Roger):

Right now she's safely on dry land and before she's returned to the water, she'll need some new stencilling.
For her name, I want to choose something properly interesting to me and I came to "Atlantis".

But what design to go for? Here are some thoughts I had:

AtlantisLogoSimple.png

Inspired by "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" and "Stargate Atlantis".
I like that trident design and I think it could fit well on the spinnaker I have yet to get.

AtlantisLogoModern.png

Alternatively, perhaps something a bit more modern?

Or my "everything but the kitchen sink" approach! :rofl

Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions?

I'm not seeing your image, for some reason.

As for your designs, I prefer the first one. The "modern" one looks far too generic to me, and I think the last one obscures the lettering a little too much. :p

If it were me, I'd probably pick a font similar to HMS Victory's new nameplate, which is apparently more historically accurate than its previous lettering... but that's just my taste. :wp

Odd, it works for me.

Anyway, you've probably already seen it ages ago here:

I think pretty much everyone likes the first one better.
That second one was just a quick attempt at something else.
And of course the third is complete overkill! :rofl

Do you have any idea what font that might be?
The one I used is a Palatino one, which is apparently pretty close to Stargate Atlantis and Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
But I'd be curious to try out my approach with a more Victory-like font.

Heh; I completely forgot I made this thread.
Quite a lot has happened in the meantime!

For instance, the name design on the hull is now 100% accurate; courtesty of my brother, myself, a fancy shipyard and a pile of euro's. :rofl

That's an awesome boat!!! :thumbs1 And yes, I like the first design as well not that it matter anymore :p And those effects I like it. You should really get a flag like that @Pieter Boelen xD:pflag I thought it was real for a second and I thought that was AWESOME!!! :aar

Indeed the final design has been made and is now 100% exactly like I wanted, thanks to the help of @TechnicJelle!
Here is what it looked like by the time of her rechristening ceremony end March this year:

An attentive @Jack Rackham might notice the "Å" in the middle now really isn't a Swedish character.
Compare it to the "A" at the beginning and you'll see they're not the same anymore

Whoever says I didn't? Here's a picture of me hoisting a MASSIVE pirate flag on her for real!
That was already two years ago and it has been carried on board ever since. :cheeky

Well by the looks it seems you are in port, I hope you are on pirate territory on there is no fort/patrols close. :rofl

Never mind. With or without an Å, if you manage to get her here, I'll make coffee. :pflag:onya

Beautiful location @Jack Rackham! :onya

Well skeleton pirates are cool, so no problem there and it's only for a while, well small price to pay for real life fast travel! :onya

Ever seen a skeleton try to drink coffee? Not a pretty sight. xD

One possible workround might be:
Code:
DoQuestReloadToLocation("Port_Rackham", "reload", "boat", "_");
That avoids any nastiness associated with "time_for_coffee". It does mean you will need to provide your own coffee. For best results, bring raw coffee beans, then grind them when you get there. This means you'll have fresh coffee. It also means...
... you'll be a Pirate of the Carried Bean.

Well...now that I think about it, you have a point @Grey Roger. :yes

That way, you get the best of both worlds!
