Discussion My thoughts on why POTC isn't on GOG yet

Hello everybody, long time since I posted anything on PA. I have some worries about our campaign to get POTC to be buyable digitally. The site we direct people to via the banner has literally NO INFO given about the game. Neither release year, Akella/Bethesda/Disney connections, link to its Wikipedia page or nothing similar. There are many duplicates of this wish on GOG's community wishlist along with some other unrelated games named Pirates of the Caribbean. Therefore I'd like to appeal to some competent people here that we give GOG some information on which game EXACTLY we want because in their shoes I would be confused seeing just the POTC title with over 1500 votes and lots of comments. Guess it should be also mentioned that it was planned to be Sea Dogs 2 at some point. These are just my thoughts on how we could get it on GOG faster by making the wish more official/professional. Greetings.

I sent an email to them quite a while back, but they could not provide any comment.
Either it is the Disney license that complicates matters or they still don't understand because of the very confusing titling or they just don't care.

Or maybe the reason they have the other games is because another company (Blackmark studios?) was pushing for them, which seems likely considering the name change.
And of course they wouldn't care about PotC, because of course they wouldn't. :facepalm

i think the biggest reason has to be Disney hold the license because i don't think title is the case here since they change the title age of pirates to sea dogs !
Most likely, yes. Disney must be hard to get a hold of and, even if you do, they probably don't care because they aim for bigger profits than selling an old 2003 game. :facepalm

Just wondering, maybe the premiere of the 5th movie would be a good time to remind Disney of the game's existence? I have no idea how, though.

Actually, it isn't actually funny. "Bizarre" would be a better description.
I'll leave it up to him whether he wants to tell about it here or not.
