    Released Privateer Lugger

Really unsure why the sails position would be different as I never worked on POTC. My suggestion would be that the default yard position is different. Thanks for letting me know about the locator issue! Fixed it and reuploaded the file. Cheers

    Released Privateer Lugger

Hi @Gray Roger, That rope going from the mizzen topmast to the mainmast is complete but that's a good example of the issue I am facing. It is in fact so thin that when I zoom-out a bit it looks as if it is incomplete in the 1080p res. See below, with a little zoom-in it shows complete...

    Released Privateer Lugger

Finally she si ready and I am more or less happy with the result. The only thing which frustrates me is how the fal-type ropes appear in game. They look quite a bit thinner than repe-type and some of them are even thinner then others. Is there a way to adjust the thickness with XY, XZ or YZ...

    Released Privateer Lugger

Hey @Hammie , Actually hold off on this for now. I just realised the scaling of the model is a bit off. I'll fix that and will send you new files. Thank you!

    Released Privateer Lugger

Btw, I managed to make some progress on the rest of the vessel. Walkfiles are done and locators for everything up to top masts are done as well. Looks decent to me.

    Released Privateer Lugger

Hi @Hammie , Here they are as well as the texture used by them. If you could please export them so they could be read in TOOL, I could do the rest. Many thanks!

    Released Privateer Lugger

Sorry guys, having real issues with this project at the moment. Unfortunately, part of the models I am exporting from maya (main mast, mizzen mast and both topmasts) get "model could not be read" in TOOL so I cannot create locators for them. I tried different techniques like splitting meshes...

    Released Privateer Lugger

Hi all, It's been a while since I posted here last time. Personal life got in the way. Needed a bit of a distraction and began modeling again. Here is my latest little work. Currently preparing the model for exporting. More updates to follow. Cheers Rider88

    Released Neptunus Privateer

Hi guys, Does anybody have a version of Neptunus privateer with conventional rigging (spritmast and an early style mizzen sail)? Alternatively please show me if there is a place where I can download it again. Unfortunatelty, I've lost some of my files and would be really glad to have it...

    WIP Early XVIII-century barque

Will continue to work on it shortly, just need to get a desktop powerful enough to run 3D Max and Maya. Sorry for being absent for so long, had to migrate to Australia and it took some time to settle here. Cheers

WIP Sviatoi Piotr (St. Peter) snow

No problem. I still have a lot of work to do, besides anchors. Btw, can you suggest any reference material regarding cabin interiors? For example, I started to model a swinging cot for the captain (similar to the one I've seen inside the HMS Victory), but I have no idea if this type of cot was...

    Packet Boat

Well, in many sources (Russian mostly) this type of vessel is called 'Baltic snow' or 'three-masted snow', and such of vessel as St.Peter, for example, is called 'snow-brig'. I can guess that such three-masted barque-snows are exclusive Baltic vessels and they didn't spread anywhere outside...

    Packet Boat

It was a surprise for me that my post provoked such an active discussion! thank you, guys! It was interesting to read. Now let me explain. There are certain reasons why I made such a rigging for the FLS packet boat. First of all, I'm currently playing POTEHO. It is the most modern and...

    Packet Boat

What do you think about my version of FLS Packet Boat? I converted her into a snow to replace shnyava1 from POTEHO. I also added self-made gun models and gunport covers.

    WIP Early XVIII-century barque

Comparing Maya and 3d max it is difficult to tell which is better. For example I spent much less time creating hull shape in Maya, than I used to spend working in 3d Max, but Maya lacks polygon editing tools, so it is easier to create more complicated objects such as stern ornaments in 3d Max...

WIP Sviatoi Piotr (St. Peter) snow

Many thanks for an explanation! You're right, I've modeled the masts according to my plans and I was thinking a lot about those parts of the masts and their location. The reason why I decided to leave it as shown on the plans is that this is a Russian vessel and Russians always tried to place...

WIP Sviatoi Piotr (St. Peter) snow

An update: yards, capstan, stern light, binnacle, windows. I also adjusted the normals and made an alternative paint scheme. Anchors are not finished yet, so they are not shown on the screenshots. I have a question about the topgallant yards. On the majority of plans and drawings this vessel...
