Pedro gilbert was born in 1800 and was 35 at his death. He raided american shipping of the eastern coast of Florida. He used his schooner the Panda and 11 fellow cutthroats to do so,especially the Mexican an American brig carrying 20,000$ in silver, and the captain of her was tortured to reveal his treasure. After this they set the Mexican ablaze and left, though amazingly all hands aboard the Mexican survived. After this capture Don Began smuggling slaves from Africa to Florida and got good profit, and continued this until he was captured by an english man of war, discovered and was handed to the Americans and executed. The Story Of Roaring Dan Seavy: Dan Seavy was a sailor and soon bought a schooner which he christened the Wanderer And with some men he began illegally kidnapping women and selling them, mooncussed other ships in order to steal their cargo, stole from warehouses,and began vension poaching. Soon Seavy famuosly hijacked the Nellie Johnson a American schooner by offering the crew many boxes of liqour which he desired to share with them. When each crewmember was intoxicated they were all thrown overboard, and sailed to Chicago sold the cargo, abandoned the schooner and returned to the Wanderer Though soon he was put in irons and placed in a prison in Chicago and soon had his trial and was charged with piracy, smuggling and unlawful hijacking of the Nellie johnson. Though due to the original master of the Nellie failed to appear Roaring Dan was set free and maintained he won her in a fair poker game. Seavy worked in the U.S Marshall's service for a while and and continued to curb poach,
smuggle goods, and piracy on Lake Michigan. Though the Wanderer was sunk by a fire, Seavy purchased a 40 foot Motor launch and continued his ways of smuggling and poaching. Soon in 1949 Seavy died at the age of 84 in a retirement home and was buried next to his daughter. Don Pedro Gilbert l ( 1800- 1835) Roaring Dan Seavy
