I've found the envoy and killed Roche, but when I deliver him to the govenor, just after they talk to me and I am being transported to port, the game crashes

WTF is this???

resource\models\ships\Fort\Fort.gm: can't open geometry file
That file and folder doesn't exist. Never has done either.
WHY is the game trying to load that file???
 
Me neither. There is a fort "ship" in ships_init.c, but I've never seen anything like that.
Does it happen ALL the time?
 
What if you enable the cheatmode at the bottom of PROGRAM\InternalSettings.h and use the opening dialog to skip ahead?
See if you can get through then? Or at least skip past and continue the rest of the story?
 
Open that file with Notepad and set ENABLE_CHEATMODE to 1. Start a NEW story for Assassin and then the opening dialog has options to allow you to skip to various parts of the story.
