Looks pretty cool. But, it says it won't be open ended like Caribbean Tales. I wish they would stick to one version so we don't have to have 3 seperate installs of a similar game. I'm already torn between POTC and Caribbean Tales.

We had some writeup on this before, its like a storybook game. I can't see it being as popular as AOP, but then im not in the marketing dept. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

captain blood is NOTHING like AoP:CT <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

the Age of Pirates name has no connection except for playlogic wanting to label Captain Blood that way.

heres part of what to expect from Captain blood

holy cow, i never knew the graphics were like that. That looks great

I saw the screenshots for this game, but I thought it was a bit odd that they didn't show any shots of the sea or sailing. I hope its not going to be some walk-around-on-land-killing-everyone-and-call-it-pirate pirate game! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Oops, I take that back, they did post some sea screenshots since the last time I checked it out. It could be a cool game.

That's mostly what it'll be. There's a video trailer somewhere, I saw it a couple of months ago.

Just what I said before - most game designers have yet to realize that such thing as "woman" exists <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Another bloody male oriented game -__-
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Not to sound chauvinistic, but historically there weren't many female pirates (with the notable exception of Anne Bonney and Mary Read). Most sailors were very superstitious, and believed it would bring bad luck to have a woman on board (often wonder where that came from). If you look at the pirate articles of Bartholomew Roberts, the presence of women onboard is expressly forbidden.
You and other female gamers probably don't want to hear that, but that has somewhat to do with the lack of female characters in nautical games. That, the mostly male game demographic, and mostly male game developers.
That appears to be changing some though (AoP being a good example). If more games included female characters (and advertising to match), I think the publishers would sell a lot more games...

well, there were a quite a few women pirates troughout history, however, they were vastly outnumbered by men.

And since when have game developers let themselves be limited by history?

Voodoo, healing potions, decapitated heads working as guides through the catacombs, period-incorrect footwear...

I think they can make room for a lady or two <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

ahoy

does anyone have some news about this, as it seems, another great game?
