Oh, WOW... I simply loved what I saw... Seems like top notch graphics to me and, given all that's been revealed of the gameplay thus far, this is cfertainly promising to be a spectacular game.

I simply loved the scene where the ship's cannons fired in sequence as the camera moved past them, while the night was setting...

Is it just me or doesn't that female pirate look like how an actual female pirate would look in that time? From the quick look we got of Beatrice, I think that's exactly what they were aiming at. If you look at some of the screenshots, I think it's pretty close.

Just search and download the VLC Media Player and you'll never have to worry about codecs again (if you have the latest version, at least). It's free and very good at playing almost anything you can throw at it...

But, can somebody tell mo why they made so big swords?

It's simply illogical... man... swords of almost 5 feets at the end of the 17th century...

Why there is almost only POTC that have made some realistics swords? Anyway, looks cool.

Actually, many period rapiers were easily 5 feet long (including the handle portion). Of course, they were the longest swords around so all other swords should be much shorter... I'll have to watch the video again and pay attention to this...

The fact remains that they are still not terribly realistic to the era. Women onboard ships were unusual - and if they were onboard ships, they usually were not dressed in gorgeous gowns except on special occasions. And they usually weren't taking part in any battles. Anne Bonney and Mary Read were exceptions - so was someone like Grace O'Malley.

Most women who were onboard ships back then were disguised like men - and hid their ...ummm... <i>attributes</i> - for fear of being discovered as a female and treated harshly... IF you know what I mean... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

I love Beatrice's outfit - don't get me wrong! But it's just another nod (and a nicely handled one at that) towards the fantasy of having women aboard ships or captaining ships. At least she's practically dressed; we're lucky (or maybe unlucky?) (HA!) that she isn't bare-bosomed <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock:" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" /> and in hotpants, like a LOT of male fantasies about pirate wenches! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
