Age of Pirates Revealed!

True, wolfwood, but you can only get a feel for the sailing life if your actually doing the sailing! You cant really enjoy the sailing life simply by watching a boat moving through the ocean at 6 knots.

I looking forward to this new game, it seems to have all the things Sea Dogs had which POTC left out. There was only one (main) quest in POTC (which is fine for a brit like me, but if i was French i wouldnt have liked to be fighting for the White Ensign!) whereas Sea Dogs had 4, one for each nation. Looks like AOP is gonna do the same, which is smashing.

What i dont want is for AOP to leave out things from POTC, like the boarding parties and `on-shore` interface. I enjoyed being able to explore the ENTIRE islands in POTC unlike in Sea Dogs where you only had the town and the limited buildings (those which were unlocked).

Does anyone have a release date for the english version of AOP? I know its early days yet but i was hoping to have something to look forward to before my POTC CD catches fire from overuse!

Keith mentiond sometime in May ur June,but that's not written in stone <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Hi <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

Shall be scenaries more accurates than those of PotC are??, they looks like mediterranean shores but never as the caribbean ones <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dp_nogd.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ng" border="0" alt="dp_nogd.gif" />

Also vegetation is very poor designed as well as towns they looks much better european ones <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dp_nogd.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ng" border="0" alt="dp_nogd.gif" />

Captain´s cabin in those sailing ships was very different that the one in PotC game...... a lot of wasted space!!

I suggest to the Akella´s staff to take a glance over some caribbean pictures <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I love all the new screenshots. Me and my friends are amped for this game in a big way. I am wondering, why is their no info about this game on the Akella website this close to release? Most games get some hype generated years in advance. There are maybe just a few months now for this game, and not a single gamer I have talked to has any idea at all, what Age of Pirates is, why they should want to play it, when it will be available to them. Some sort of new marketing trick, where the game apears out of nowhere so suddenly, that it makes a sneak attack so powerful that it confuses any and all potential players into making a purchase?

Well since they dont have a US publisher they are bing a bit silent on it apart from the screenshots ( which are all in Russian) they are pumping that version pretty well with all the magazine articles and so on, but for us they cant do much as the release of PR material is up to the publisher
