Your comments??

Plain cool!, I had the idea of that cabintower too, but I had no idea how! now we can make one that resembles the Provincien! But it really is plain awesome!

Cool! I really like that painting on the stern as well. Good job! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Is there any dutch ship with this kind of cabintower?
then we can give her a historical name. i think the "middleburg?" have that look but i am not sure.

the cabin tower is in detailpack 2 included. i cut it from a VCO ship.

this evening she´s ready to download. i´ve added some texture details new Pics later.

could you try making a galleon like that? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

I try it, of course!
which model should i use? whats your favorite galeon.

i make the first tower lower and the second higher. "Le Couronne" like!

i like the war galleons best, but i'd prefer you to use one of the more regular galleons. you see, we need an older type of galleon for the earlier periods. try finding pictures of galleons with four masts. they're quite common, but completely missing from the game.

first try with AoP War Galeon:

<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/3897/43915194tu6.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/573/34079610xz3.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

the Galeon C3 is from VCO too. in VCO she has four masts but when i export to .obj file the model deforms in 3ds max.
without changes i think i can import Galeon C3 with four masts in PotC/AoP.

The new Pics:
<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/7381/51707377ai2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

<a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img src="http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/115/35482357un1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

cooooooool. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> but did the four masts fail to work? i didn't quite catch that. because that's not what i mean with four masts. i mean two on the stern with both a single lateen sail.

ooh. that's a nice one. not the most beautiful bow i've ever seen, but still. i think it's one of the later english galleons, from more or less the period of the spanish armada or later.

Some info´s:

In 1577, a new design of warship slid down the ways at Her Majestys Royal Dockyard at Chatham, England. The ship, the 400 ton REVENGE, carried 46 guns and was the first of the new race-built galleons. As ships go, she wasn't very big (hardly the size of a modern day fast torpedo boat) but she would revolutionize 16th century naval warfare.

Narrower than her predecessors, with the towering poop and foc'sle of the older galleons cut down, the ship was fast and highly maneuverable - in fact for her size she quickly outclassed the lumbering galleons that had come before. The ship's cost was a paltry 4,000 pounds - a fantastic sum in those far off days but hardly amounting to anything at all in today's dollars ( a mere $5,800 US ). The experiment proved so fast and weatherly, that all the following Royal Ships were built along her lines. And her builder, Master Shipright Matthew Baker, a man of uncommon ability who, unlike most of his contemporaries, was also a skilled draftsman - in an era when most ships were built by eye and the skill of the builder and drawings of ships were mostly fanciful or at best rudimentary.

In 1588, Revenge was Sir Francis Drake's flagship during the battles with the Spanish Armada but the ship's claim to fame rests with the action at the Azores in 1591. Part of a small English fleet lying in wait off the islands for the returning Spanish Treasure fleet from the New World, Revenge was separated from the remainder of the fleet when her commander, Sir Richard Grenville, paused to embark his fever-stricken men who were resting on shore. Even then, cut off as he was, he might have got away, but he chose instead to stand and fight.

What name would be for this class of ship ("De Seven Provincien" and "Neptune")?

I propose: "Large Battleship" or "Heavy Pinnace" or "Extremely Heavy Pinnace".

normally i'd say warship, but that one already excists. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

i'm afraid not. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> but it looks a lot like the one you posted, except that it's slightly heavier built. some of them even had multiple lateen sails above each other, like this one:

<a href="http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/14400/14473/grt-harry_14473_lg.gif" target="_blank">http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/14400/14473/grt...ry_14473_lg.gif</a>

this one is the Henry Grâce á dieu, one of the biggest galleons ever built. it's a pretty old one too, which you can see because of the castle-like design.

That was a JOKE of mine. You weren't actually taking me seriously, were you? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Today I tried to put the Seven Provincien into my game, but found that boot.tga is missing and I can't seem to find that file anymore either. So I put the old Seven Provincien in instead. Considering that both versions of the ship are pretty different, I think we should use both. Once I found boot.tga somewhere, that is... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
