That sounds a bit more fitting, I think.

nothing more to say about AOP !

We already pretty much agreed that we do like the subtitle of "City of Abandoned Ships" for this game. It's the "Corsairs" prefix that we'd need to change. "Sea Dogs" and "Age of Pirates" are no options. "Pirates of the Caribbean" obviously isn't either. Nor is "Pirates". I don't think "Corsairs" would work very well either, because that's a term mostly applied to French/Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern pirates, but not Caribbean ones. Now most people won't be aware of this, but some people might. Of course we need to come up with a term that would work for future pirate games from seaward.ru as well, because they wish to establish a brand name.

So far, that gives us the following options:
- Buccaneers of the Archipelago
- Cannons and Cutlasses
- Captains and Cutthroats
- New Horizons
- Pirates and Privateers
- A Pirate's Tale
- Dawn of the Golden Age
- Pirates Ahoy!
- Buccaneers
- Caribbean Thunder
- Sea Wolves
- Privateers
- Brigands
- Scallywags
- Sea Hawks
- Crossbones
- Age of Glory
- Infamous Glory
- Under the Jolly Roger
- Los Conquistadores
- El Dorado
- Caribbean Winds
- Caribbean Chaos
- Merchants and Smugglers
- War for Profit

If nobody has any more to add, perhaps we should make this into a poll.

the game is in the year 1665. at the top of piracing.

possibly:
Pirates raise / sunset sounds good for me too with abandoned ships title.

Those names are really good! I am surprised of the variety of synonyms attached to the word "pirate" in the list, did´nt know half of them <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Hmmm.. how about:

Old Pirate Farts: The Final Fart What No Man Has Seen Before... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

That's...original to say the least <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I hoped Pieter would see that too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ko" border="0" alt="ko.gif" /> Okay. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I like... Caribbean Winds. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I saw it now. I don't think that would sell very much copies. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

Anyway: How about compiling a list of the best options so we can send it out to Akella? They might be wanting to get some suggestions by now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I vote on making up a list of the best <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I'm surprised there's so many suggestions <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

So how do we make such a list? Perhaps everybody just post their top-five or top-ten and then we see which ones are listed most frequently.

I must say, some really awesome name suggestions here folks. Well done.

On of my favorites is Sea Hawks. Keeps a nice connection to the roots of the games we all love and presents just the right touch history for the subject.

Just my 1/8th piece here....

Cap'n Drow

I like that one as well.
