Need Help Assassin Quest Line, Tripper...

Landlubber
I did the escort mission with Captain Tripper to Cozumel. We dealt with the French at the Temple, but on our way back to the Naval base, he has a mutiny and his ship flags enemy.
I defeated and boarded him, but in the cabin fight, he just stands there like he surrendered, but I cannot talk to him or kill him.

What is Trippers reputation? How much money do you have?

Try starting over from your last save and watch the crew morale. If it gets to treacherous give them some money to raise their morale.

AH! Quest characters committing mutiny; we may have to prevent that altogether.
Indeed I didn't actively prevent that because it could become a bit of a "cheat".

Yeah, it starts dropping at sea, and every day it drops a lot.....I cannot keep up with it and get to where I needed to go. I'ts ok though....I deleted that line and started doing something else.

@ Pieter, yeah, disabling quest characters from mutiny would be a good idea.

Off topic....what is the highest military rank you can become? Vice Admiral?

I just had a quest character mutiny on me in another storyline, and I just let him go and continued back to port as if he were still there. Guess what? The quest completed perfectly anyway!

You can become some kind of Admiral of the Navy or something like that.

Bahhh!!! I wish I had thought to try that.

Off Topic....someone should make a super sword...... like 50/70 damage and 90%/90%.....model one up. I never seem to find a good sword for Pirate. Just swords officers drop that have no style.

That didn't come out right.....some of the swords in the game are pretty, what I mean is, a sword that looks less like it belongs on display.....something mean looking. Like Dog's sword from Cutthroat Island. Something sinister looking. A more evil looking style.

So you want a super sword that also looks super mean? I don't think Dog's sword is in POTC but I believe it is in GOF2. It could be imported easily enough. Oh, it is based on a real sword too. German methinks.

There are some pretty good swords in the game already. I like the sword of the Dutch and Portagee town guards best meself.

Lessee...............
Toff at Bonaire has a great sword.
Bartolomeu O Portagues at Cayman has a great sword.
In your storyline you will meet up with the greatest swordsman in the Archipelago, and he has a great sword.
I am using the sword of Francis Drake and it is great. Angelique Moulin holds the clue to this one.

There are some pretty good swords one can find on corpses too.
The Knights Templar sword.
The Polish szabla
The Cossack shaska.

Those might not be in your time period though.

The Knights Templar sword is certainly in the "Assassin" storyline. I took a lot of them off the crews of various Portuguese warships and gave them to my officers.

Toff, on the other hand, is not available in the "Assassin" storyline. Neither is Angelique Moulin. You don't meet Bartolomeu o Portugues at Cayman but you will meet him as part of the storyline.

I don't recall seeing the Polish or Cossack swords during the "Assassin" storyline.

Back on the original topic: I don't recall Tripper causing any trouble, though I can't remember what his reputation was. It must have been either neutral or good because if it had been bad then I would have had problems.

Perhaps make quest captains all have neutral reputation, then they should not mutiny regardless of your reputation.

Toff is available in:
  • Master & Commander
  • Devlin Opera
  • The Buccaneer
  • Tales of a Chevalier
I wanted to add all the sidequests to Assassin and Bartolomeu as well, but there were some incompatibilities that I didn't have time to address, so I left it.

True, that. Doesn't always make sense from a story-telling perspective though, does it?
