I am not sure when this went live, as I never saw a press release and just stumbled across it today. Ubisoft has released an update for Assassin's Creed Pirates! The new 2.0.0 update includes a new "Runner" mode, according to the iTunes page :

What's New in Version 2.0.0

Land ahoy!
You’ve been sailing the Caribbean seas for a year now, defeating the fiercest enemies, plundering the wealthiest ships and hunting for the most mysterious treasures…
It’s time to continue your adventures on land, Captain!

Explore hidden Mayan temples in a brand new RUNNER gameplay!
Collect the Mayan stones from the 64 temples to unlock maps fragments…
… Assemble all the fragments to reveal the location of 8 EPIC REWARDS!
And don’t forget to look around while you run! 24 NEW TREASURE CHESTS are hidden in the temples!

Want more? 50 new daily challenges should keep you busy for another few hours!

The game is still mostly free to play, but of course, as with all the FTP tittles, any of the extra content is going to cost you some doubloons!

When Ubisoft will stop releasing the Assassin's Creed games?o_O :sick
The only right period for an Assassin's Creed is the Middle Ages.

They will milk this franchise for all it's worth, like EA does with all it's sports franchises, just change a few names, numbers and locations. Just like Disney has done with Pirates of The Caribbean, and will continue to do now with Star Wars. :facepalm

The most funny was the last Assassin's Creed (Unity) was really buggy. And even the patch Ubisoft released to fix the game was also buggy :rofl

The latest patch for AC Unity for xBox One was 6.7 gig, but the patch has a glitch that requires owners to re-download the entire game!:8q

I remember the good old days, when game companies actually tested their games and found most of the game breaking bugs BEFORE they were released! Of course back then the games were a bit smaller and there was a lot less hardware to be compatible with, but that is no excuse for this type performance issue.
