Hi all

First of all, i'd like to say how good build 12 is, and how much i appreciate all the hard work that went in to it. But.....i do have a small problem.
Every now and then, when i enter a house ( stores,taverns etc are fine ) my screen fades to black, for example, the house in oxbay to the left of the mines, and i can do nothing except use the F1 and F2 functions. I appologise if i'm repeating a post from someone else, but i have looked and couldnt find anything that was the same as this.

i just got Build 12 and installed it about a month ago, its all up to date as far as i know via the update doodaa. i dont have any other builds.
 
This is very odd. Are you getting any error reports? They'd be in your PotC directory. There are three files with the .log extension that might tell you what's happening with your game. If you've got something lke that, post the error.log text here - you can open it using notepad.
 
nope..no error log. The game dosent "crash" as such, i can still use the F key functions, but i cant move, or if i can i cant see it. i also cant get back out of the house i'm in. The only way i can continue is to use F1 and load a saved game. All my drivers are up to date and my g.card is a Radeon 9200SE 128.

Also sometimes when i enter the house. the word "house" still appears on the screen at the top left as normal, but it fades out to black after about 1 second

That no logfile is written, maybe in engine.ini is tracefilesoff switched to on(1). <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />
 
i tried altering the tracefilesoff , it was set at 1, so i changed it to 0, it made no difference, so i changed it back. Any other suggestions?
 
That switching of tracefilesoff to 0 is my suggestion, because if you have done so, in your PotC folder have to appear logfiles. Without such logfiles, their will be no chance to help you.
Hm, further following entrys have to be in your engine.ini:
debuginfo = 1
codefiles = 1
runtimelog = 1

Try this and repeat that action what is causing your error and after this close application.
After this look at your PotC folder (their, where is located engine.ini) for files with extension log.
