Build 14 Alpha 8.5

when i arrive charlestown, builds have no texture and it's impossible to enter in shops, tavern or other; very strange.

The item go to run ok and after i speak with the shipyard no think to do ?

I dont understand <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Did you install Build 14 Alpha 8 Full? If so, are you playing the Bartolomeu main quest? Do you have a file QuebradasCostillas.c in your PROGRAM\Storyline\Bartolomeu\Locations\init folder? If so, remove it and start a new game.

That is really quite weird. It suggests to me that something did go wrong in the installation, because it appears files are missing that ARE included in the installer files.
Please make a complete reinstall of Build 14 Alpha 8.5 Patch 2 as per the instructions on the first page of this thread.
Alternatively, wait for Alpha 9 to be released, which will be much easier to install.
The Alpha 9 file itself is finished; I'm just having trouble uploading it.
But it should be available before next weekend, and hopefully even this evening.
Depends on how much luck I have.

Also, is Build 14 Alpha 9 on the Index of build page O.K. to use?

Ah... yes... I removed Patch 2 from the FTP, thinking that I might not be allowed to resume my upload because the FTP was full. That was not the case though, so I might as well have left it. In a couple of days, Alpha 9 will replace all previous Alpha files though, so you won't need it anymore. No not too big at all, just anxious to update and get into game asap ^^
Curently patched up to 8-5-1.
 
In that case Patch 2 and Alpha 9 Light should work. But I recommend you do download the Alpha 9 Full one for the next time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
 
Hey guys, i need some help pls ! I played this game 3-4 years ago and it was awesome ! I had some errors, i remember with some dude u need to find for some quest in some tavern, but he doesnt appear there, and i managed to fix it somehow i got stuck in some maze in late game on some island. But, this doesnt have to do with problem i got now !

Peter, i followed ur install guide, but i get this error when i try to play ( I click on Engine file to run game)

have you installed the game and mod correctly?

To install, please follow these instructions:
1 - Install Build 13 Final (if you haven't done so already)
2 - <b>Remove the PROGRAM, RESOURCE\INI and RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations\decks folders</b>
3 - Extract the Build 14 Alpha 9 Full file on top of your game
4 - Allow it to overwrite all files it wants to
5 - After completion, run RunMe.bat
6 - Install Patch 2
7 - Run RunMe.bat again
8 - Start the game and reset the controls to default in the Options menu
9 - Tweak the controls and the game's settings to your liking in the Options menu
10 - Start a new game, select a storyline and ENJOY!

cus i have finished that main quest with no problems. only random crashes and other bullshit

But it has far more details than normal POTC xD
Can u tell me pls what to do here? I just started and im stuck, i checked controls but cant get the world map to sail, and cant do anything except running on the deck loosing some weight.


P.S. Pls tell me if all old quests are here? There were few awesome things like fighting skelets in cellars, and there was quest, i think it was a part of the main quest with some waterfall, i cant remember correctly, but i remember lots of skelets inside and some nasty gold inside aswell as some cool weapon... I cant remember correctry, mb im crazy, but i think it was this game... =]

why would we remove any of the original quests? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> well, they're there, anyway. but you'll probably be too busy with all the others to go check.

Found it, y that was easy, but i wasnt looking since i unacidentely pressed space too fast while fighting with my officer, so i guess he said what should i do, instead of pressing whole keyboard 3 times, what i did! =)

Btw, game looks awesome. I found next weird problem, its mb coz i play on Vista. I finished start quests with selling Milka chocolate and leather, fixed my ship and hired crew. After that, i ofc went to visit that dungeon in town =)

Here's the problem... When i come near the doors, it automatically puts me inside the dungeon. When i get inside, i turn back to leave dungeon, and it again auto kicks me without clicking to "exit dungeon". I get kicked into the sea (2. exit which is like 1 min swiming to get to the port). Then i said ok, i go clean dungeon of those "2 legged rats" and after i move about 20 meters forward, those 3 guys attack me. I kill them ofc, but when i do it, it kicks me again in other part of dungeon where im surrounded with 3-4 guys. Since im not Chuck Norris, they cut my b...lls in 5 sec.

I can put screenshots if it will help u understand me =] Any1 has the same problem with those auto teleportations? Im thinking to rename my name to Picard, and my ship into "Enterprise".
