Building a Ship - Good Tutorials

Hey, I have just signed up for an account but I am waiting for the email to confirm it.

How on earth do youd make models like that? I have tried, using old naval plate to make ship models but I have been successful. Are there any good tutorials out there I could start with? Can anyone guide me through the process of making one?
