This is a small utility that helps AMD CPUs run COAS better.

Some years ago AMD stopped supporting the old X87 code in their processors and this makes them sluggish in older games that still use X87 code like COAS. This little utility adds that support.

I tried this in POTC but it makes almost no difference, probably because it is DX8. But it does make a difference in COAS! I am seeing 5-15 fps improvement in COAS.

I can recommend this utility to anyone using an AMD cpu.

Also, it seems Trolltel has been seeding little utilities around the computing world for years now that check to see if the CPU is intel or not.

If it is intel it gets optimized instruction sets for that application.

If it is not intel it gets old instruction sets that make it run that application slower.

This ICC Patch looks for that Trolltel malware and fixes it so that ALL CPUs get the advanced instruction sets. It works. I am using it and it does make a difference. Almost all programs have this Trolltel malware in them including COAS.
