Solved can't play 'capture pieter blood's ship' due to cursed coin

Playing as Hawk, I have a problem with the quest in which i have to capture pieter blood's ship. I have a cursed coin in the Inverntory which turns me into a skelleton at night and makes txiki attak me, when we meet in the jungle, so i actually have to killl him and can't go on in the quest then. I've tried anything to get rid of that cursed coin, i put it into a chest, gave it to an officer, sold it to a merchant but always reappears in my inventory afterwards. Is there really no way to dispose that bloody coin?

Is there really no way to dispose that bloody coin?

There is a hint in the coin's item description. If you're familiar with the PotC films, you might be able to figure it out.
If not:

Spoiler

1. Go to the Tortuga tavern, talk to Mr. Gibbs
2. Receive Aztec Compass, which puts Isla de Muerta on the map
3. Go to the cave there and put the coin in the chest with the others
4. Problem solved
