Hello to all who are fans of Pirates of the Caribean Movies. I have created this threat to talk about POTC and POTC's upcomming movie. I know that some people in the past have made threads on this, but I haven't been around for a while.

----------------------------------------------------------
(The following is all old theory from when the thread began, a lot has changed since:
----------------------------------------------------------
I have a few things to ask first:

-What is the full name of the next sequal comming out (and possibly the one after)? Is the first one called "Treasure of the Abbis"?
-Is the filming taking place NOW? I heard it was to start in Feb. 2005.
-Is Keith Richards in it or not? I suspect not but I heard something.

I have some things to point out after watching the POTC DVD.

Has anyone acually watched the movie with the commentary on? I watched and listed with the commentaries with Jonny Depp and the Director talking, and then all the script writers talking. I noticed one big thing relating to a secual. They hinted that the sequal will concentrait on the ship Black Pearl itself and it's supernatural powers and presences.
I also came to the conclusion that ever since the next sequal might be called "Treasure of the Abbis" that possibly we might be seeing Bootstrap Bill appear, due to he sunk into a "Abbis". But in the most likelyness, my theory will be wrong due to the fact that Bootstrap Bill would have most likely have been killed in the crussing pressures of the deap sea.

Also, if you watch until the very end of the credits, there is a easter egg that might lead to a sequal. They are in the treasure cave (Note still filled with treasure) and Barbossa is laying there dead. The monkey swims up and hops up onto to chest of Aztec gold and grabs a piece of gold and turns into a skeleton monkey and jumps screaming at the camera. There the small scene ends. Now this could lead to a couple optionsin what happens next in the sequal. Maybe the monkey taking a coin from the chest will enact some weird part of the curse and bring Barbossa back to life.
The other thing is that ever since the treasure is still there in the cave, then maybe Jack and his crew are going back to get it. And then maybe Jack looses the compass in the "Abbis" of the ocean, making it a treasure into itself due to that seems to be the only way to get the treasure for Jack (making it a "Treasure of the Abiss"), and the only other pirates already knew where it was (the ones that were part of Barbossa's crew). But this would be countered by Jack gave up the bearings to Barbossa in the story leading to POTC 1, meaning you could know the bearings and still get there without his special compass.

Not relating to the sequal but to the first Movie, if you do listen to the commentary from the script writers, during the final credits, they go through the entire plot of movie, even the story before the movie begins. Just listening to the commentaries of Jonny Depp, the Director, and of the script writers can be very interesting and you can learn a lot you didn't notice or didn't know about the movie and it's characters.

I know a lot of this stuff might have been posted already, but I couldn't find it right away, so maybe it was a good thing to re-post it. Anyways, this is the place to post any comments on replies to questions above and upcomming questions, on what you think will be in the sequal, and general POTC Movie stuff. OK , from my understanding ol bootstrap was the one who started the curse right? If that being the case he coulndt die even if he was thrown overboard.

ok so barbarossa get knifed and in his last breath gets his monkey to steal a coint starting the surse off again. That way we can have both in the next movie.

That sound about right?

Well I believe that name for the second movie is "POTC: Dead Man's Chest" and will be coming out summer of 2006.

Rumor has it that Geoffrey Rush may return as Barbossa and
Keith Richards could be joining the cast as Jack Sparrow's father.

Stellan Skarsgård is rumored to play "Bootstrap" Bill Turner. As mentioned above when they made Bootstrap walk the plank they were already cursed so providing he was able to walk out of the ocean before the curse was reversed he should be alive.

Here's a quote from IGNfilmforce:
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->"We do know that producer Jerry Bruckheimer wants to film the sequels back-to-back. The original's principal cast – Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom – are the only actors confirmed to be returning at this point"<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Edited for Spelling.

In reply to Keith, Bootstrap did not start the curse, but he was part of it. It goes like this:
-Jack gives up the bearings to treasure
-Crew Mutinies
-Crew gets treasure
-Crew takes Aztec Coins
-Crew is cursed
-Bootstrap is part of crew that took coin, feels guilty for being a mutineer, and sends a coin away to his son
-Crew angry, and straps a cannon ball to his boot straps and sinks to the bottom of the ocean.
Also, it is still possible for bootstrap to have died and be cursed. I have noticed that if these guys are crushed enough they will die. Bootstrap sunk extremely low in the ocean, where the pressure could have crushed him. He would still be alive, but he wouldn't be able to do anything due to he would be crushed into little pieces, maybe.

For the barbossa thing, that last scene I was talking about is at the extreme end of the credits, and barbossa has been long dead. I was discussing the possibility on a sort of technecality of the curse might kick in for the next movie.
______
In reply to Meethos:

The three key actors and their characters make sence. The other characters like barbossa and bootstrap would be a little boring to use again that were supposedly dead (sort of). If the next movie, like the original, is meant to include a science fiction/fantacy twist in it (first movie it was the skeletons and the curse) then the borbossa and bootstrap characters will come back I guess. But if not, then I guess we will see some new actors, and maybe Keith will come out, due to I think the old plot of using the curse as a major part of the script doesn't seem to be a good thing to right a sequal on. Still having the curse in the sequal would be like doing a sequal to blare witch project.

It's interesting that they are changing their mind on filming 2 sequals back to back and that its coming out in the summer of 2006. Where did you get the name of the sequal from? When was this movie in theaters for the first time? July 2003 right? Do you think by summer next year that people will still be interested enough in a sequal?

__________

In my overall opinion, I think the movie will not involve the Barbossa Character, Bootstrap Bill Character, Keith Richards as Jack's Dad, or the old curse.

I hope what happens is that Keith Richards does get signed on, no Barbossa or Bootstrap (good character though, I don't mean I hate them), no curse, and more involvement with the Jack Sparrow Character (but that won't happen probably due to that concentraiting on him the whole time would be a little boring).

Id like to see Barbossa back in the seual to be honest, the others i wouldnt care to much for.

Now for bootstrap, they never actually said WHERE they dropped him you know. POssible it wasnt that deep an area...im clutching at straws here though but it really does seem like the most logical extension of the plot

I found the information <a href="http://filmforce.ign.com/pirates/" target="_blank">here</a>.

<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383574/" target="_blank">Here</a> is another link with some cast listings.

<a href="http://movies.go.com/moviesdynamic/movies/movie?name=piratesofthecaribbean2_2005" target="_blank">This</a> link has most of the same information as well.

Hope these help.

I have decided to post the website results on this page for all to see. I think this will answer many questions. I have been out of the loop since February and it seems a lot has changed. Here is the information from the first sight Meethos listed

<b><u><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Pirates Sequel Details</span></u>
Title and storyline talk.</b>

<b>February 03, 2005 </b>- The first official details on the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels have been leaked by none other than Disney studio Chairman Dick Cook.

During a recent investor conference (audio available on Disney's corporate website) Cook revealed that the title for the second film will be Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The subtitle is lifted from the lines of a pirates' song in Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island ("Fifteen men on the Dead Man's Chest/Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!").

Cook laid out the storyline for the sequel saying, "This time around, Johnny [Depp] returns as Captain Jack Sparrow and is caught in yet another tangled web of supernatural intrigue. It turns out, Captain Jack owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, ruler of the ocean depths and captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. If Jack can't figure a crafty way out of this one, he'll be cursed to an afterlife of eternal servitude and damnation. And as if that weren't enough, Captain Jack's problems throw a huge wrench into the wedding plans of the blissful Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, who quickly find themselves thrust into Jack's misadventures."

Disney will shoot both sequels back-to-back in Los Angeles and the Caribbean starting this March. The first sequel will sail into theaters in summer 2006 with the third film in the series opening in summer '07.

Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom will all be returning for more high-seas adventure.

They'll be joined by actor Stellan Skarsgard as Bootstrap Bill and Naomie Harris as "a gypsy queen." The latter could be the role that Salma Hayek had been rumored for.

Other rumored thesps include Geoffrey Rush reprising his role as Barbossa, Keith Richards as Jack Sparrow's father, and Chow Yun Fat as 15th century Chinese pirate Cheung Po Tsai.

<b><u><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Rush Back for Pirates Sequels?</span></u>
Captain Barbossa may return.</b>

<b>January 19, 2005</b> - Pirates of the Caribbean baddie Captain Barbossa could be returning for the film's forthcoming sequels. That's according to star Geoffrey Rush himself by way of the Dark Horizons website.

"It is not an official announcement," he says, "but at the moment I am on hold until there is a date somewhere late January where I think they are going to roll out the schedule and the scripts.

"They have got a big job ahead of them," Rush says. "They are going to shoot two and three together for logistical reasons and they are certainly determined not to make it a sausage machine project. It seems they are very keen on expanding the possibility of what Barbossa and Jack Sparrow and all the characters get involved in, and I think they are going to take into some quite fantastical and surprisingly new directions."

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer wants to film the sequels back-to-back. The film's principal cast – Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom – are the only ones confirmed to return at this point, but a number of other names have been floated around.

Keith Richards may be joining the cast as Jack Sparrow's father and there are unconfirmed rumors that Salma Hayek could also star. There's also a rumor that Chow Yun Fat may play infamous 15th century Chinese pirate Cheung Po Tsai in the second and third installments of the swashbuckling film franchise.

We'll keep ya posted on the latest.

<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'><b><u>Skarsgard in Pirates Sequels? </span></u>
Exorcist actor as Orlando's dad.</b>

January 26, 2005 - Sweden-based newspaper Aftonbladet (props to Coming Soon for digging it up) is reporting that Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård (Exorcist: The Beginning, King Arthur) will come aboard the forthcoming sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean.

He'll reportedly play "Bootstrap" Bill Turner, the father of Orlando Bloom's character who was referred to (thought dead) in the original. Skarsgård told the paper, "We are going to shoot around the Los Angeles area as well as in the Bahamas and the West Indies. ... I'm playing the old pirate 'Bootstraps' Turner... it should be fun, I enjoyed the first one."

The paper says that Skarsgård's will start work on the project in February and finish in December.

The story for the Pirates sequels is being kept tightly under wraps. We do know that producer Jerry Bruckheimer wants to film the sequels back-to-back. The original's principal cast – Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom – are the only actors confirmed to be returning at this point, but a number of other names have rumored.

Geoffrey Rush may return as Barbossa. Keith Richards could be joining the cast as Jack Sparrow's father. There are unconfirmed reports that Salma Hayek may appear in an unspecified role. And there's been a report claiming that Chow Yun Fat will play infamous 15th century Chinese pirate Cheung Po Tsai.

Keep watching IGN FilmForce for the latest. Thar be news here when it breaks.

<b><u><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>A Gypsy Queen for Pirates 2 & 3</span></u>
Harris joins Skarsgard in sequels.</b>

<b>January 28, 2005</b> - According to The Hollywood Reporter, British actress Naomie Harris has joined the cast of the two forthcoming sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

The Disney flicks will shoot back-to-back in Los Angeles and the Caribbean beginning this March, with Pirates 2 bowing summer 2006.

The trade says Harris "will play a gypsy queen." Her credits include 28 Days Later and After the Sunset.

THR also confirms the casting of King Arthur's Stellan Skarsgard as the father of Orlando Bloom.

Along with Bloom, Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley will also reprise their roles from the 2003 hit. Also returning are director Gore Verbinski, screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Here is a link to pictures of the Black Pearl for the film. Obviously they have built a whole ship for both sequal, and not just a floating platform. But where are her sails? They must not be done building yet, and there is probably a possibility that they are going to do the same thing they did in Master and Commander, the Far Side of the World and put her in a tank and manually move her.

On Meethos third sight, I noticed this:

02/15/05
A chief of the Dominican Republic's Carib Indians is protesting this film's representation of cannibals. Chief Charles Williams said, "Our ancestors stood up against early European conquerors and because they stood up … we were labeled savages and cannibals up to today. … This cannot be perpetuated in movies." It remains to be seen whether Disney will remove the reported cannibals from the script. (BBC)

The third sight is worth looking at for news.

Well I think the Barbossa question could be answered by this - if the monkey was part of the original curse, and he's still alive, and he has a coin, well, <b>none</b> of the spectral pirates from Barbossa on down (Pintel, &tc - notice the cast list Python just posted) should be dead - including Bootstrap, who even tho he might be deep in the ocean was still part of the original curse. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Make sense? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" /> It's a *tiny* loophole... But I think it works. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Having looked at all of Methos’s Sites previous and how I posted them, my view on what is going on in the movie has changed. Here is what “I” see going to happen in the plot:

Like the first movie, the movie will have a sort of specific “song” to go with it. The first POTC had “A Pirate’s Life for Me” from the movie. The song in the second sequel will probably be from Treasure Island, that famous “Dead Men’s Chest” song. That song never really existed during the pirate age.
I am not happy with the decision to go with another supernatural movie. What seems to be going on is that Jack is in debt to Davey Jones. Somehow he gets Elizabeth and Will involved.

There are several Questions that will probably come up until the movie comes out. Here are my ideas on what could happen to answer them:

<b>Question:</b> Why is Jack in debt to Davey Jones?
<b>My Opinion: </b>Flashback: Jack gets through the fight in the caves at the end of the first movie due to taking a coin out of the Aztec gold, and then wins the fight. He returns the coin and becomes mortal again. Barbossa and the rest of the pirate crew is dead/hanged (most likely). You could say that Jack “cheated” death by getting out of his hanging. Back to Reality: Maybe Jack was meant to originally hang that day and share the punishment the rest of the crew of the Black Pearl received. Maybe that is why Jack is in debt.

<b>Question:</b> What would be a reason for Jack’s Father to pop up?
<b>My Opinion:</b> Maybe Jack Sparrow appeals to his father for a solution to his problem with Davey Jones. That would be another thing to attract people to see the sequel, have Keith Richards as Jack’s Father Pop up.

<b>Question:</b> Why would Barbossa re-appear?
<b>My Opinion: </b>Other than Geoffrey, I noticed a rumor of Chow Yun Fat coming to play the Chinese Pirate Cheung Po Tsai. I also noticed Alex Norton appears to be being cast as Captain Bellamy (Probably Charles Bellamy for reference). Maybe Davey Jones will send Barbossa, Cheung Po Tsai, and Bellamy to capture Jack to bring him back to pay his life debt.

<b>Question:</b> Why is Naomie Harris playing a gypsy queen?
<b>My Opinion:</b> Maybe this will be another character Jack seeks for help against Davey Jones. It will probably turn into an important relationship. I heard the gypsy name is Tia Dalma. They also say that Salma Hayek may be doing this part instead.

<b>Question:</b> Why would they bring back Bootstrap Bill?
<b>My Opinion:</b> Maybe he is a messenger from Davey Jones to Jack, due to that would get Jack’s attention, and would give reason to interrupt Elizabeth and Will Turner’s marriage and get them involved in the movie.

<b>Question:</b> Why would cannibals be involved (see third sight listed by Meethos above)?
<b>My Opinion:</b> Maybe that is something Davey Jones sends to take down Jack. Or…Flashback: Ms. Swan falls off the cliff in the begginging of the movie, and jack is talking to guards on the Interceptor and he says, “And they made me their chief” to them as they hit the water. The script writers to the first movie explain that this was originally Jack telling a different version of the story of how he got off the deserted island after the mutiny on the Black Pearl. This version was that he had to deal with cannibals and eventually became the chief. This is all talked about in the commentary in the first film. Back to Reality: Maybe Jack meets them in the movie for help.

<u>Other things to note:</u>

For actors, it seems according to the second sight on Meethos’s list that Jack Davenport is coming back as Norrington (might be continuing a chase that would have been started if the movie went on to the next day after Jack escapes hanging) and Jonathan Pryce as the Governor of Port Royal (He will probably be at wedding in sequel)

The actor cast for Davey Jones is supposedly is Bill Nighy. I looked in on him, and looks like a good actor, but seems busy. He is appearing it seems in 4 films in 2005 alone. Here is a link to more info on him: <a href="http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc&cf=bios&id=1800019394" target="_blank">http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc&cf=bios&id=1800019394</a>

<u>Major Dates:</u>
-Filming Supposedly Started in March of 2005
-First Movie comes out on July 6th 2006
-Second Movie comes out in Summer 2007 (I’m guessing July again, seems to be a pattern)

Now there are some dedicated fans.

Makes me wonder how it will all tie-in with the game release... They rushed PotC (the game) so as to get it out in time for the release of PotC (the movie). Now they're talking Q3, 2006 for the Legend of Jack Sparrow (the game) release. Could that tie-in with a DVD release? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

If they were smart they would do the DvD and the Game at the same time and not rush the production of the game for the summer of 06'.

I wholeheartedly agree, Captain Python! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

My ideas on the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel:

- The last thing seen before the End Credits roll is Captain Jack Sparrow looking at the "compass-that-doesn't-point-North" and putting it away. That means that he'll probably be going straight off to Isla de Muerta. Either to take all the treasure with him or, more interesting, get himself cursed-on-purpose with the idea that as long as he's cursed, he can't be killed, but he won't give any of the coins away, so he can remove the curse whenever he feels like it. However, Captain Jack didn't know the monkey Jack took one of the coins, so when he wants to lift the curse, he finds that he can't.

- About Barbossa returning: I really, really liked the character, but story-wise, I think he shouldn't be in PotC 2 for the sole reason of him being already killed. He should be properly dead as he was killed after the curse was lifted. If you can bring a person back from the dead, you can keep and keep going with the same characters, which would become boring in the end. I'd rather have some equally good new characters instead of Barbossa returning.
(Side-note: There are, apparently, sequel stories written to Star Wars Episode VI - Return of the Jedi in which the Emperor's spirit managed to find another clone body to occupy, so that the same villain (who should have been destroyed by being thrown down a reactor shaft and ending up in the explosion of the Death Star II) could cause mayhem once again. Is it just me, or is that a really lame idea? Face it: Dead is dead and story-wise, bringing back people from the dead in a sequel means you can go on and on into infinity without actually acchieving a final victory)

- About cursed pirates being killed: As seen in the movie, you can (temporarily) defeat a cursed pirate by ripping him apart. However, their body-parts will remain moving (as seen by the arm Governour Swann has been 'fighting' against). I suppose the body-parts can re-assemble into a whole body again. This means that actually killing a cursed pirate is impossible, unless you lift the curse first.

- About Bootstrap Bill: Since he was cursed at the time he was thrown overboard with a cannon strapped to his boots, he should have survived and be alive somewhere. Unless he didn't manage to find land in all those ten years he's been strapped to his cannon. Or unless he indeed was so crushed that he could 're-assemble' and walk to land. According to me: Bootstrap being alive is very likely.

- About Keith Richards as Jack's father: I'm not interested in seeing a rockstar as actor in a movie whatsoever. I'm not interested into seeing the character of Jack's father in the movie whatsoever either. Unless there is something really interesting about his father. But since he wasn't even mentioned in the first movie (while Will's father obviously was) and I don't imagine Jack having a very close relation with his father, I think this idea could be safely scrapped from the script. They might put this into the film, but I doubt it'll do much good story-wise.

About Davey Jones as the captain of the Flying Dutchman: The actual captain of the Flying Dutchman was not named Davey Jones; he was named Willem van der Decken. Otherwise, I'd say that Davey Jones as character in the film could be quite a lot of fun.

About the gypsy queen: What's that got to do with pirates? I don't imagine gypsy's doing much sailing, right? Maybe it's meant as love-interest for Captain Jack Sparrow. But you don't need a new character as love interest for good 'ol Jack. Annamaria would fit the bill perfectly. And I reckon that could also make for some witty dialog.

I'd also like to see Murtogg and Mulroy back in Norrington's crew. They were really much fun in the first film and could make for some great fun in the sequel. Pintel and Ragetti back could also be fun, but since they were part of the cursed crew, I don't think we should see them again. They probably would have been exucuted. Only it is a Disney film, so you can't be too sure of that. Execution + Disney...? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
I also really liked Mr. Gibbs, so I hope he's also back as part of Jack's crew. And Annamaria too! (I like Annamaria <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> )

Having just had a look at the most recent character listing on IMDb, I wonder what the heck Giselle and Scarlett have to do with the movie. They don't seem like characters that particularly need being in the sequel. I also wonder what a Turkish Guard is doing in the Caribbean. And how come an uncredited sailor is on the IMDb list? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />

This is all I can come up with right now. I hope you'll enjoy. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
Can't wait for the movie. I suppose we can trust Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio to come up with a good story. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I think that the monkey started it all over again; by having that coin, even if there was to be an execution (Pintel & Ragetti) the cursed pirates will not die...

I, too, enjoy Mr. Gibbs's character - I've always liked Kevin McNally, the actor who plays Gibbs - He's in Gettysburg, one of my favorite Civil War films, as well as many others. It always pleases me to see him in a film. He can act the SOCKS off anyone else, IMO. A very compelling artist. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Annamarie most DEFINITELY should be back in this film!!! I'd like to see more character development for her. Actually, the whole crew that Gibbs assembled for Sparrow should be back.

Having Keith Richards play Jack Sparrow's father could count for some impressively comedic moments together, to my mind, simply because I think Depp could take a scene like that and RUN with it, heh... Only thing is, I don't want to see two Jack Sparrows, parroting (oooh, pirate pun!) each other. Unless KR has his own distinctive character traits, it will come across as flatly moronic that the two men act exactly alike. I want entertainment, but not like that. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

I agree with you on all points, except the curse part. If I understood the workings of the curse correctly from the film and audio commentaries (I was one of those buffs who watched them all <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> ), you get cursed yourself if you take a coin out of the chest. When all are returned and everyone has made a blood offer, the curse if lifted for everybody. Then, when somebody takes a coin out of the chest again, only this person is cursed. Until somebody else also takes one out; then they're both cursed. To lift the curse, they will then need to return both coins and both make a blood offer. If everybody who has been previously cursed will be recursed, there would be a problem, because the curse has lifted, so in the meantime, they could have died, so if the curse if re-enabled, possibly not everyone could make a blood offer, because possibly not everybody is alive anymore. Does that make sense? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Yes, but the monkey was part of the original curse. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Wouldn't that count for something?
