I don't know but maybe some sidequests should have some nationrelation updates too as reward?
Helping a respected person from a nation normally should help your relationship with this nation.

Some could, I suppose. Not a high priority though.
Maybe I can tackle that when all the main "base game" issues and updates have been done for Beta 5.
I intend to do a full play-through of every sidequest and storyline then and update everything that needs to be updated.
Should be able to wait until that time, right?

Wish granted. Some side quests have nation relation updates as rewards. "Girl Won in a Card Game" gets you amnesty from France; "Find the Missing Son of the Spanish Admiral" gets you amnesty from Spain; "Help the Turks Island Settlement" makes Pirates wary instead of hostile .
