Low Priority Changing World Map Encounters: No Merchant vs Merchant

I just wanted to state out that many world map battles are between two groups of (escorted) merchants, which doesnt fit that good IMO, If it is possible, it might be more logical to change it so that always at least one of the battle participants is not a merchant, but also not e.g. a Battle Fleet against a merchant. I dont think that merchants of 2 nations always tried to fire on each other at first sight, or that a whole Battle Fleet wastes their ammo for a few poor merchants.
 
I don't know if it is possible to avoid that. We only define types of single encounters.
The game engine can then randomly decide to pit any of them against any other.

I do understand your reasoning and you've got a valid point.
But how to convince the game engine to avoid that? I can not really think of an easy solution. :(
 
as soon as a new public/stable release is done I want to look at my old worldmap generation system and see if I can make it work again. I will keep this in mind then.
