After i saved my game in port... i set sail. Shortly after i was attacked by a dutch war patrol. They had a 4 class 1 ships... i took 3 out but failed when i boarded the mother ship... i reloaded the game and it never happened again??? has this happened to anyone else.??? I am prepared now.... and now i cant find them... im attacking every dutch ship i come across... WHERE ARE THESE SHIPS!!! i really want to capture one....

Yes, although the basic type of fleet will be remembered when you reload the game, the actual ships seem to be generated randomly when you actually enter battle.

One good way to get yourself a big ship is to keep reading the rumours in the taverns. When you see that a colony is under attack, go there. The attack force will almost always have something nice and big, and as an added bonus its crew will be drastically reduced. You can grab a man'o'war for relatively little effort.
