Unconfirmed Bug crew too large?

I sailed from Kralendijk to Barbados to get rid of an albatross and do a treasure quest. When I arrived I was met by a Pirate Light Fluyt of War and prepared for a tough fight.

It didn't happen.

Our cannons misfired. They would fire once in a while but mostly nothing happened except that the green bar on the minimap showed them firing. No shot or powder was used.

The logs are a mess but they seem to show that a crew is too large. Don't ask me how that could happen.

Which mods have you installed? "compile.log" says "Build 14 (22 December 2017)" and "Savegame Compatibility: 14.939", which is consistent with the post 31st August fixes archive, but have you also installed Levis' fixes?

What sort of ship are you using?

It is an up to date install with Levis's fixes.

I'm sailing a CastelF escorted by an Early Neptunus and a Postillionen. The Pirate ship was a Light Fluyt of War. This is my 4th treasure quest. We were met by a Pirate ship in the 1st one and all guns fired normally. We were not intercepted in the next 2 and then intercepted in this one. When it became apparent that we could not hurt each other they sailed one way and we sailed the other way.

Since it seems there is no fix for this while Levis's fixes are installed I have been working on getting a new install up and running without them. We shall see how it works out.

That does sound wise. Good luck with it! Hopefully it helps. :woot

I took an escort job to test the cannons and they work fine. The problem is now the constant storms in battles. They reduced the hull health of my Polacca to 6% before I could get back on the world map and then direct sail into port to end it. It has never been this bad before.

I'm pretty sure that nothing to do with storms has changed in the 31st August install or the post 31st August updates. But I have also sometimes noticed that once a storm starts, it sometimes keeps going on and on. That's not new, though, and it's one reason why, when I'm about to go from world map to direct sailing, I sometimes save game, especially if I'm about to go into a battle.

What is happening now is the storms popping up right in me face so they can not be avoided, or being on the world map and checking that the weather is clear and dropping out into a storm.

In the other case it didn't matter if we direct sailed or used the world map, when the battle started the storm started a minute or less later. Over and over.

Since then I have been defragging the hard drive it is on daily and it is getting better, but still when on the world map I have to hover me finger over the keyboard while staring at the screen to avoid the storms.
