Desperate for help

It should work regardless. I have on-board graphics card with on-board sound card (although on desktop computer) and never encountered similar problems.

This may be silly, but what can it hurt to try?

1. Uninstall,

2. Reboot,

3. Re-install game (make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers for your components and DirectX version, published "4/6/2006"; Americans and their back-to-front date format <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> ),

4. Reboot

5. Start game.

While I was checking on the latest version of DirectX I came across a website where the author suggests a similar process, <a href="http://directx.com/microsoft.htm" target="_blank">http://directx.com/microsoft.htm</a>

Come to think of it, maybe you may even need to roll back the DirectX version if the latest one may give trouble....

Good luck mate! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

First off, I have the same DirectX version, so that may not be the problem. I have the Bethesda version of POTC, though.

A quick search on Google gave me these links about uninstalling DirectX & I suggest u read them in this order:

1. <a href="http://www.computerhope.com/directx.htm" target="_blank">http://www.computerhope.com/directx.htm</a>
Please note their warning. Keep a system restore point before trying the uninstall if you are running XP.

2. <a href="http://www.superfoxs.com/" target="_blank">http://www.superfoxs.com/</a>
Link to an uninstaller for DirectX.

I dug the order form out, and some of the things on it are

Inspiron 9400 Duo Processor T2300 (1.66 GHz, 2 MB)

Intel Media Accelerator 950 Graphics Up to 128MB s

80GB (5,400 rpm) SATA Hard Drive

Memory Upgrade from 512MB to 1024MB

1024MB 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)

Does any of that help?

To me it seems as if your graphics card doesn't support the game. As far as I know, there's nothing you can do about that except get a new graphics card. you can try updating your drivers and DirectX version though... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Well that sucks. Unless I can get some drivers (any help would be appreciated), I'll have to settle for playing it on my lower spec PC.

Harsh really, as I really wanted to be able to sail the scurvy-ridden seas while on the go.

I know. I wished there was anything I could do to help, but I can think of nothing anymore. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Your graphics chip must have T & L support as this is a requirement to play POTC <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

What's that...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

WHAT should i do??? please help me!

Firstly, you could start a new thread.

That way you might actually get attention from people who can help you, rather than be ignored because someone has already read these threads.

This happened after installing Build 12.1, didn't it? Can you try reinstalling (and making sure you backup the files you previously had missing after your previous reinstall) and then checking if this also happens if you don't install Build 12.1. I want to know if this problem is a general problem or if it is being caused by Build 12. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

BTW: I have removed two of your three similar cries for help. One will do. I hope you don't mind. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

T & L stands for texture and Lighting,some onboard graphics chips do not support this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

the problem existed be4 u gavce me modpack and now when i took my windows firewall down it just works fine :S

Great! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
BTW: I would recommend only turning off your firewall if you are playing the game and keeping it on at any other time; just to be sure... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
Unless you have another firewall as well, that is. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
