Eng K3 Bank and Whorehouse Problems

I've been messing with the files since I installed it so that may be the problem but I downloaded the "program" folder and overwrote mine then overwrote that with the eng k3 mod.After backing up and deleting all saved game info and starting a new game most of the new options/features worked,except ofcoarse the bank and whorehouse.I can enter both of them now fine,but when going into the bank and talking to the userer he simply replies with "cant find associated dialog".Youd know what I meant exactly if you looked at enough of the game files as anytime the game cant find said files they all default to the same error document and it just fills in that specific dialog event it cant find.I was going to give EXACT message but just tried overwriting all files again and now I can't get jack to work but after I write this i'll go back and redo it.As for the whorehouse it was open but no one was home and I know that the event dialaog and events themselves have been coded and are there(+100 exp for sleeping with a hooker ALRIGHT!).Anyway if anyone had a simular or the exact same problem and has any idea's i'de be most appreciative.

P.S. If theres going to be any sort of team organized to translate the "computer/auto" translated english text into a bit more "grammatically correct/make it make sense text" then id'e be glad to help out as thats about as much as I could do to help the whole AOP mod movement.I figure if we get enough people and split it into specific files/zones/events we could knock it out fairly quick,granted it still might not be websters dictionary nor 100% historically accurate,but hey then again,we're pirates playing a game about pirates so <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" /> .Anywho both or one topics may be in the wrong place in these forums but I couldnt find an exact fit for my need so I appoligize in advanced if I've sullied the board by posting this in the wrong area,but I felt a bit more at ease than usual as i've found this board to be a bit more laid back than most public boards <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> .

I did,thanks,but I thought that was for unmodded straight from disk version?Also when I looked at your "paste" code that code was already there in the k3 moded files not to mention the commented out include line you use to tell people to post underneath(the one at the top of the file) is gone.But from your posts and just the fact you figured that much out im guessing you know a bit more about the "c" languages than me,wich doesn't take much as I know infantecimally next to nothing(nice way of saying i'm just plain stupid).
 
your not stupid fry, yeah im a developer myself but that is beside the point im always learning something new myself and even people that know programming need help from time to time and so do i. Everyone learns from each other and the best way to learn is doing it.
 
So is your fix for the unmodded or k3 modded version as now i went and replaced program and resource folders with original,overwrote with k3 mod,deleted all saved game data and started a new game and buildings are locked again,just wish I could remember what I did before to get mod working and have buildings open,then atleast I could work from there.I'm guessing this thread is gonna have alot of me posting dumb questions,sorry fellow pirates ahoy forum readers, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

You wouldn't believe how many people had little to no coding experience it seemed when POTC first came out, and helped do a lot on the mod. Every has an idea and opinion and those are valuable and treasured.

Yes, I think we need to start looking at officially assembling a PA! Modding Team for AOP: CT. This whole section will pick up once everyone starts receiving their copies. A lot of people ordered theirs through Amazon, and those aren't shipping until next week (poor bastards. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />)

Translating the Russian mod might be a place to start, but we should also look at being able to re-mod of a lot of it to work with the English installation from the start and eventually make an unpackable installation for it.

Everyone posting and sharing is how the POTC Build took off in the first place. We'd not only love to see the same thing happen for AOP: CT, we encourage it.

Okay got bank working,well i can deposit and barrow money,dunno if the percentage thing and all that works,also doesnt want to write to the logbook.Anywho now im trying to get the whore_boss aka madam to show up in the brothel. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Found the same problem.

The first line of the following files, contains the line:
#include "DIALOGS\russian\..."

this will have to be changed to match your file location. For example i renamed the russian folders in K3 to english, so mine will have to be
#include "DIALOGS\english\..."

Files that have this include are:
Trader_dialog.c, Citizen_dialog.c, Enc_Companion_dialog.c, Habitue_dialog.c,
Merchant_dialog.c, Patrol_dialog.c, Shipyarder_dialog.c, Soldier_dialog.c,
TavernOwner_dialog.c, Usurer_dialog.c

So thats how i fixed it, you might have had a similar problem.

Anyways how did you get the bank to work?
And also, which whore house doesn't work? I've just tried the one at Isla Mona, and it worked fine for me.
 
For me to get the bank to work i had installed the k3 mod repack from the ftp server,replced usurer dialog from original install back over the usurer from the mod and edited as need from the unlock buildings thread.I also had to go through all the locations and uncommentout the bank and brothel and comment out the disableing of said buildings,sorry for short explanation but i gotta run.If you don't understand i'll come back and clear things up.
 
Shiny. Don't understand why you don't see the madam though.. But I'm sure that it'll work for you aswell when an english release of k3 gets released
 
Cpt Blackfeet is back to work on his translation. If he needs any help I'm sure he'll ask. Meanwhile, now that I can see a Program folder, I'm poking around like a mad man. lol it would be cool if he would, i already asked him in a pm if he would also do a modpack for aopct and he said he wouldn't ad he is busy with the potc mod which i understand takes a lot of time. Still we all keep our hopes up that he changes his mind lol

I keep saying it this aopct game would be great even better the potc when it's modded it has a lot of potential.
