All,
A rarely known but simple fact regarding maps in COAS.
If you want to reduce your inventory items clutter regarding maps in game (there are 28 unique maps!), give ALL OF THEM to your assigned navigator.
When you press the "M" key, all maps will be shown just as if they were in your inventory.
This does not apply to treasure maps that are quest items.
Just don't forgot to take them back if you decide to fire him/her or your will lose them all.
Always avoid assigning him as a captain temporarily to a new ship in case he gets sunk or captured.
The good news is if you hire a game NPC HERO, and then fire him he keeps his inventory items throughout the the entire game!
