No idea mate. The modders learned how to change the animations in GOF2 so some of the women walk like Paris models now, so using POTC models may be doable once their system is learned.

Hi! Could you please make a zip file with all new/modified files not installer?

I prefer to install mods that can be easily removed in case of another mod installation or vanilla play.

Just make a copy of your unmodded game folder as a backup. That's the easiest solution by far. In fact, it may be your ONLY solution.
ZIP or EXE doesn't matter; since any mod files overwrite stock game files, no way exists to uninstall anyway. :shrug

I'm using Generic Mod Enabler, it backups only altered files and restores them automatically.
So I need all mod files unpacked before installation, not patched "on the fly" by installer.

Backup all 16GB is not a good idea :)

And also I'm using some additional mods to GoF so I must know what exact files are altered by installer in order to modify new version (not the previous one) in these mods.

You can create such an archive yourself. WinMerge is your friend: Download WinMerge - WinMerge

Compare the unmodded game with the modded one, then copy over all the different files from the mod.

Hello, I encountered a problem with giving "musketoons" (the regular, not double barreled) to officers. After I gave a musketoon to Ned Ogle he equipped it and immediately disappeared. I can't find him in the ship's wardroom and even if I assign him as a fighter he doesn't show up (no icon). Yet he appears in the F2 character screen and I can assign him to different posts normally or make him command his own ship.

I tried this:Tutorial - MODDING TIP - How to Remove Equipment from Officers and Give Them New Weapons | PiratesAhoy! to manually remove the musketoon but it didn't help as he doesn't equip anything to replace it.

EDIT: No other choice but to load a previous save.

So I have to backup vanilla game, install mod, compare vanilla with modded, copy modded files to some folder, restore vanilla and then install mod with GME.
    Quite hard way ;)

But if this is the only choice I'll try, thank you.

It is also the only way. In post #127 you basically ask someone to do that.
I don't expect anyone will suddenly show up and make it happen, so the best thing to do is to do it yourself.

I've asked Capt. Daniel Wolf, the author of the mod.
I assume he has all mod files unpacked for sure. And it's pretty easy just to pack them into zip-file.

And I really don't understand what is the reason for using some sort of installer for the mod not just (self-extracting) archive.

He hasn't been around for a while. Nobody who worked on GoF has been for some time.
You can wait for them to show up if you like. But don't expect that to be soon. :shrug

Hoy All ! I just signed up but I am following you from the firts day I got COAS and I tryied all the mods i was able to try.
Like 10 minutes ago I read on the forum that there is no more dev. for GOF.
So.. I want to know if this thread ( the ongoing upgrade ) is a work from the main devs with the community or if this is a retake from community.
    Why i ask ?
Well I have read a lots of news and with Hearts Of Oak, POTC-New Horizons and Sea Dogs: To Each His Own...
I'm in the oblivion toward the future of GOF and any other mods for COAS.
I wanted to help in the development of GOF but like I said above, no more rum aye...
Well I'll wait for a heart beat from you guys before pushing a other ship on sea without a compass :shrug

I don't have Pirates of the Caribbean from Walt Disney and Sea Dogs: To Each His Own look nice but i don't have money to spend
on polished already bought product... aye you got my point of view i think.
Got plondered already enough from """"""" I don't buy stuff that I can't touch with my fingers anymore
and i want to push as hell the freedom market. The one who exist only in dream and blinds peoples.

    :ahoy

The author of this particular mod showed up and did his thing, and then disappeared. It is what it is. :shrug

GOF2 is the main mod but that team fell apart a while back and no work has been done there since.

The only game being actively worked on here is POTC, along with some new interest in SD:TEHO.

    :facepalm

I was thinking about mods, not the new game. I should have mentioned that.

I've found a solution to the choppy sound issues I was having, but one thing I cannot find is a fix for the Giant crew walking around the ship in 3d mode, anybody had this issue and know a fix?
