global map is stuck

Almost everything in my age of pirates Caribbean tales works perfect accept for the global map, so I'm forced to sit and stare at the sea mode. This is no way to play a game. It's very frustrating because I've spent literally hours trying to figure our how to fix this. If anyone has any idea how to help it would be greatly appreciated. I've tried the patches. nothing seems to work. All the other ships move around me but mine is stuck in place. Please help!!!!!

I know this may sound obvious ( please don't take offense )

In Caribbean Tales - you can only sail between islands using the Global map - you use the W-S-A-D keys to move your ship on the map

W=Forward S=Stop A=Left D=Right

So what you are saying is that these keys are not working
