Grappling

So this skill, can anyone confirm what it does?
The same thing as long range boarding and master boarder?
Does it work like morale in affecting your crew during battle?

Also what would you guys rank as the most important skills to raise?
I tend to go for melee, luck, accuracy, and sailing.
I pretty much always ignore repair because of quick repairs ability.
I also ignore commerce.

That skill just makes it easier to grapple with a hostile ship. I ignore it.

I go for luck, commerce, and melee.

Depends on how you want to play the game , best solution is to get an officer with high grappling skill at some point if you do intend to be boarding alot.

If you have a low grappling skill, you need to match course and speed with the ship to be boarded quite closely.
With a higher skill, that matters much less.
