Interesting Mod Tidbit from Seaward

Okay, interesting bit I found on the Seaward forums... Apparently there is a gent there that has created some custom models for PotC and AoP. What makes these models special though is the stern windows are actually transparent on the sea views, and the really cool part is the captains cabin can be destroyed during sea combat. Doesn't its really just cosmetic from what I've figured out, but everyone on the Russian mod forums is raving about the window transparency and how much nicer it makes the ships to be able to see through the windows and into the captains cabin on some of the ships.

Apparently they are clamoring for this gent to make new models for every ship in the game right now.

The pics in the "SHIPS PAK (beta), Global fashion to ZPO (Beta)" (I love google translate) are amazing. I really like to how they applied matrials to the ships, I thought that´d be impossible in
PotC´s engine <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />

And if someone who knows some russian could translate post number 8, that´d be awesome.
Something about simulating shadows via lightmaps...

that's very interesting... it would be great to get this mod to bigger ships as well (frigate, warship...)

Indeed, there is an original release and an update patch that adds the updated models for a couple of more ships, Pieter.

I've got both packs available and will upload them along with some stuff I promised damski as soon as I get my FTP client installed and working again.
